0:00Justin: Hey, Andrew.
0:01Andrew: Hey, Justin.
0:02Justin: Well, on Friday night when we recorded our last post game, instant reaction. Did you have any idea, thought, feeling that we would be facing the Barrie Colts in the final? Okay.
0:20Andrew: Truthfully, no. I thought Branford, I mean, I think they were what, up three to one at that point.
0:25Justin: Yes. Yeah.
0:27Andrew: And I will say through work, I know one of the cult's moms.
0:33Justin: Cool.
0:34Andrew: And I did say to her, good luck with the big comeback. I hope they do it.
0:40Justin: Yeah.
0:41Andrew: On that day. And I'm imagining that she is over the moon, as she should be.
0:47Justin: I bet she is. I bet she's in Branford very happy right now.
0:51Andrew: Yeah. Definitely. Yeah.
0:52Justin: This is an instant reaction to, to the game seven of the Barrie Colts and the Brantford Bulldogs.
0:58Andrew: Yeah. I was going to say to a game we. To a team. We don't follow, we don't cover.
1:03Justin: But I mean this game was very consequential to us as they were as it's the only game on right now and it is the one that will determine our fates.
1:12Andrew: And, and it means, it means that we get home ice.
1:15Justin: We get home ice. Yeah. Wednesday night, probably the day this episode is coming out is, Is game one at the Aud I have some new. I have some new fears. I'm now scared of Ben Herbic because that guy is insane.
1:31Andrew: He's on a heater, that's for sure. They haven't scored in what the Soo five periods.
1:35Justin: Five or six periods. Yeah. Yeah, it's.
1:38Andrew: Yeah.
1:39Justin: Well, that can't last forever.
1:40Andrew: So it's good that he got that
1:41Justin: out of his system. All those shutouts. Welcome to the AudPod.
1:47Andrew: I mean it, it's, you know, they're. They've just played seven game series. The Rangers have a little bit of a rest. You and I were talking about it today and obviously you don't want to get caught flat footed.
2:01Justin: No.
2:02Andrew: Because Barry obviously has a ton of momentum now. But I imagine that the, the Rangers coaching staff will communicate those things.
2:12Justin: Yeah.
2:12Andrew: To, to the Rangers and they'll be ready. They'll know that, that, that Barry is carrying a ton of momentum. But it's a whole different ball game when you're coming into the Aud And, and you know that that crowd is going to be absolutely stoked that the game one is at the Aud I know.
2:32Justin: I am. I am too. Yeah. This is, this is phenomenal. The, the one thing we talked about today is like, we really like the Rangers now, really need to cash it. It didn't matter who won tonight. Rangers need to cash in on game one. Like, Game one is now like, all the advantage is for the Rangers and they need to capitalize on it. That's a huge push for now, this game one with a team that probably has not looked at, you know, probably was not expecting to be in the finals when they were down 3:1. So nobody's really looking ahead. Everybody's playing game by game. But if you were looking ahead, probably Barry wasn't looking ahead. So we have that advantage. There's, there's probably minimal time for a practice or a get ready because today is Monday and they just finished and, and the next game is on Wednesday, so there's, there's minimal time. And they're in Brantford and they gotta. I, maybe they'll just scoot on over to Kitchener. Who knows? Yeah, right.
3:29Andrew: Perhaps. I mean, I, I don't know.
3:31Justin: I would.
3:32Andrew: I, I, I, I will say that I think Branford was looking past Barry up 3 to 1.
3:37Justin: I think they were too.
3:38Andrew: That's what happened. I, Branford outplayed them, especially in Game 6. Ben Rebik, who you said you're afraid of, he Obviously, he stopped 55. I think of 58 in game six. Yeah. So I understand the fear, but, you know, it's Branford, I think, got a little predictable. A little bit.
4:02Justin: Yep.
4:03Andrew: And it, the Colts just have such big, big hulking defenseman and the Soo steady and they block shots and ultimately, you know, I think that the Rangers are going to have to use their speed and skill to get around these guys and make them pay. I will say that there wasn't a lot about the Berry attack that impressed me. Oh, that's just because. Yeah, good one dad jokes.
4:36Justin: I'm here for that.
4:38Andrew: But, but the, but the actual offense there wasn't like, I wasn't really. I didn't find it to be overly creative. But again, I haven't watched a lot of these guys, so I can't really weigh in on it. But I will say that, like, offensively they don't worry me as much, which, of course will come back to haunt me and it'll be like some sort of 76 game.
5:00Justin: Yeah.
5:01Andrew: Um, but defensively and with goaltending, that's. I think they're real strong suits. So we're looking at a team that I don't know if they can, you know, score with the Rangers, but I think they're going to attempt to shut the Rangers down and win Sam O'Reilly know, two, one, three, two hockey games. Naturally. Although, I mean, tonight they won five. Nothing so who knows?
5:27Justin: Who knows? I mean, three of those were empty netters, but still. Or two of them were empty netters.
5:31Andrew: Two of them.
5:31Justin: Yeah, but. Yeah, no, it was pretty. Pretty insane. I. I think, you know, like the Brantford Bulldogs, I was looking ahead to Branford, so I was doing a lot of my research was based on expecting to play Branford in the finals. So when I was looking at them, I, you know, I think it's interesting we were talking about this a little bit earlier today as well. Branford looks like a very calculated systems forward team and I, I felt like the Rangers advantage to that would be their pre scouting and their adjustments. And like we saw against Windsor, when the Rangers identify what the. The tactic is by the team, they were going to adjust and be able to beat those systems because I felt like Branford was very stuck in those. And I think that's what. What Barry did too is Barry's a much more fluid team. So they don't attack the Sam O'Reilly every time, they don't defend the Sam O'Reilly every time. Their systems are a little bit more fluid to adapt to the game around the Aud that actually will be interesting to see how the Rangers are able to. To attack that. Because, you know, there's. There's. The one major thing that I haven't seen is this like hard blue line hold when. When the opposing team is getting into the offensive zone with Barry. You know, we've. We struggled with that against Saginaw. We say struggled against that against the Soo We even struggled against that with Windsor. Is those zone entries and things like that when we're on the rush because they were just like standing up the blue line. I haven't seen Barry do that. They defend in a very different way than I think we've experienced in these playoffs.
7:10Andrew: Yeah, I would agree with that. Like I said, I haven't watched a ton of them, but I've, you know, I've now seen kind of parts of three games of Barry and I. I agree with that in the sense of. I think they're just so loaded on defense that they don't try. They don't. They don't shy away from Ozone Time from the other team.
7:35Andrew: So the other team gets an ozone possession. It doesn't. The wheels don't fall off with the Barrie Colts.
7:42Justin: They're.
7:42Andrew: They're ready to corral a rebound. They're ready to block a shot and clear a puck. They look like they're just ready to shut down the offense by just being sound positionally in their own Zone. And the Aud we saw tonight was they actually had a bunch of rush chances because guys fly the zone as soon as their big demon get the puck and their big demon can also move the puck. So that will be something for the, for the Rangers not to get caught in the ozone flat footed and the puck going the other way because that looks like kind of like, you know, Barry likes to do that.
8:19Justin: Yep.
8:20Andrew: I mean every team likes to do it, but Barry is good at it. And, and yeah, I think my biggest thing is just not shooting pucks into shin pads for three periods. You know, I think we saw that tonight with Branford.
8:34Justin: Yeah.
8:35Andrew: Against Barry. And ultimately, yeah, I think the Rangers are going to have to create offense by passing the puck, which they love to do and they're very good at. And so maybe that will be an advantage against Barry is that they can move the puck and get defenders out of position because they're going to have to. Barry doesn't look as aggressive in their own zone as well. Like, you know, we Sam O'Reilly saw the Soo was very aggressive in their own zone trying to force turnovers and, and maybe that was because they felt like they didn't have the horses to go shot for shot with, with the Rangers.
9:09Justin: I don't know what I see what you mean.
9:11Andrew: Yeah, yeah. But yeah, I'm excited, I will say selfishly, I'm excited to see Kishan Acheson because he's in the East. You never get to see some of these players or you see them, you see them twice a year.
9:24Justin: Right.
9:25Andrew: Like, and it's barely, you barely see some of these incredible, talented players. And you know, is he one of the most talented players in the league? I would say so.
9:35Justin: Yeah. So.
9:36Andrew: And I think he's definitely going to be NHLer or an AHLer next year. So yeah, he's, I'm excited to see him. I think Rangers fans can be excited about that.
9:45Justin: And he's extremely talented. He even won an offensive zone face off tonight. I was like, all right. What, what? Yeah. Yeah.
9:53Andrew: So incredibly talented defenseman.
9:55Justin: Yeah. Yeah. And I think, you know, as, as Rangers fans we should, we should sometimes try and appreciate the, the incredibly skilled players we get to watch regardless of they're on the ranges or not. And yeah, agents. Agents is definitely one that we need to watch in these, in these games coming up. But speaking of, speaking of our, our meetings with them, you know, Barry, we, we met them early in the season in October. It was after most of the team had come back. Like Cameron Reid was in that game. He Got two assists. We. We lost that game four to three. And then we face them again, again Eastern team. So we only face. Paced them twice. We saw them again on January 2, which. Which was when World Juniors was happening. So trade deadline had not happened yet. We had had. We had done some of our trades to that point and that was a 3, 2 shootout loss, you know, so throw it out. Throw it out. So it's interesting. We didn't really, I don't think necessarily got to see like the potential of these two teams against each other.
10:58Andrew: No.
10:58Justin: Which would have been the case too with Branford. We never, we never saw the, the, the two teams at their full capacity either. So it. There's a lot of unknowns going into the series, but I think that makes it more exciting, really. It's like we don't. We've seen how good Barry has been through these playoffs and obviously Kitchener has been pretty amazing through these playoffs and now we get to see the two best teams in the league go against each other. Hey.
11:23Andrew: And I called it. This is the. My favorite thing is in my bracket, the only. Now I didn't get everything right by any means. Like, I had London beating the Soo and then I had the Rangers beating London or whatever. But like the one thing was the one upset that I had in my bracket was Barry over brand nice. And so my finals were Kitchener, Barry. So I'm. I'm going to victory lap that and hope that somehow I win the contest and get season tickets for next year.
11:52Justin: Is that what it is? Or do you get to go to Kelowna?
11:54Andrew: No, you don't get to go to alone. I know, I know.
11:57Justin: I think about how awesome that would be.
11:59Andrew: Yeah.
11:59Justin: You're the only one with the right bracket and you get to go to Kelowna, right? Yeah. Go.
12:04Andrew: We should be gofundme for.
12:06Justin: Yeah.
12:07Andrew: Trip to Kelowna.
12:09Justin: Well, I, you know, the, the Branford announcer tonight after the first empty netter was like, well, that's it. The Brantford Bulldogs season is over and Barry's moving on. And he had all these stats. And I was like, yeah, I mean, it's a little premature. It was like five minutes left in the game. I mean, it ended up being correct, but I was like, maybe don't get there yet.
12:32Andrew: I think, I think it. I think it was writing on the wall with, I think Ben Rebeck. I don't think he was giving up.
12:39Justin: Yeah. Any goals.
12:40Andrew: And I think that was pretty obvious. Yeah. Yeah, I, I think it was, you know, a more or less I think that's devastation in Brantford. Right. They.
12:48Justin: Yeah, they.
12:50Andrew: This was. This was the year. This was the team. They went all in. In, like, November.
12:56Justin: Yes.
12:56Andrew: Is when they started going all in.
12:58Justin: What was the crazy stat? They went like, 28 games without a regulation loss or something like that.
13:03Andrew: Yeah. And they had. They made that trade for Danford and Sandu in. In, like, November. I think it was like, it was. It was so long ago.
13:13Justin: Was trade early?
13:15Andrew: It was. Yeah, exactly.
13:16Justin: They did it all early. Yeah.
13:18Andrew: And, you know, like, you've got to feel for them a little bit just in the sense of like. Like, I know as fans, they're great fans. They were devastated. You could see that. They kind of just had to leave the arena. I mean, because, like. Because they got. They got shut out tonight. That's a brutal way.
13:35Justin: That's a terrible way to go out.
13:37Andrew: Yeah. And. Yeah, to be up 3:1. Right. Like, it's very, you know, it's. It doesn't mean, though, that you'll carry that momentum into the next round.
13:48Justin: And I.
13:48Andrew: What I will say about that is we think about the reverse sweep, and then the Rangers ran into London, and we all know what happened last year. True. And. And so, like, you just have to keep in mind that even though, you know, like, the momentum feels really good for Barry right now, I think, like, they have to come out and they have to play well in order to keep that momentum up. And I think they'll try. But, like, ultimately, like, I'm favoring the Rangers here in this, and I know I'm super biased because I'm a Rangers
14:16Justin: podcaster, but you got something on your. Your shirt there that might.
14:20Andrew: But, like, if I really sit back, like, for me, it was a little bit harder to rationalize. Brantford, I think that was more of a coin flip for me. I think Rangers have a slight edge as far as overall team against Barry, but it's the finals and these teams don't know each other. And like, like you said, Barry doesn't. Isn't going to use those games that they played as. As anything to do with preparing for this team.
14:50Justin: Like.
14:51Andrew: Like. And say vice versa, too. For the Rangers, like, those games mean nothing at this point. The team has different players, different systems, different tendencies. At this point, it's completely changed. You can't point to those things and Sam O'Reilly know, the things you can point to and say from, like, the last round. Barry now only has, you know, 24, 48 hours, 45 hours or whatever it is before puck drop to say like, this is what they do, you know, and, And. And we just saw the Rangers mid series make adjustments to do different things. So you can't really say this is what they do. You Sam O'Reilly think this is what they're going to do. And I mean, ultimately, I think the Rangers need to jump on them early. They need to get to Ben Rebeck, and I think they'll be okay in game one. The longer this, this, this playoff, this series goes, the more you're going to see, you know, Barry getting into it with, you know, like, obviously they have the stamina. They just proved it.
15:51Justin: Yes, for sure. It will be also interesting to see how they deal with the physicality that comes with the Rangers. Like, early in the season. When we met them originally there. There was basically no physicality in our game at that point. So. So that will be another interesting feature to see how it goes. I didn't see, again, I only watched like two games of this Branford Barry series, but I didn't see a lot of the physicality. A couple things, but not. Not in the Sam O'Reilly that basically the whole west rides. So it should be. I'm excited. It's going to be a fun series. Starts on Wednesday and. Yeah, that's. That's it. We got some voicemails.
16:32Andrew: Awesome.
16:33Justin: The first one comes in from the one and only, the prodigal producer, the phenom. The phenom, Mr. Liam. This is Liam.
16:46Voicemail: I'm going to say my three stars of game five. My third star is Luke Ellinas because he came back from injury and scored the first goal for the Rangers. My second star is the Dylan Edwards because he scored the Aud winner.
17:01Justin: My first star is Christian Kirsch because
17:04Voicemail: he made an amazing save in OT.
17:08Justin: 3 stars of that of game 5. Perfect. Pretty spot on. No notes. Really.
17:14Andrew: Yeah.
17:15Justin: Yeah. Luke. Ellen.
17:16Andrew: I love it.
17:17Justin: Phenomenal. Christian Kirsch obviously deserves a first star. He had an unbelievable game. Mm. Stood on his head. And Jack Pridham been a star. He's a permanent star.
17:29Andrew: Yeah. Right. As all AudPod. Yeah, exactly.
17:33Justin: As all AudPodience know. Yeah. So. Yeah, yeah. Great work. We did not do our three stars of game five, but I think those are pretty stellar. Okay.
17:45Andrew: Nailed it.
17:45Justin: Our next voicemail is from the prodigal producers, brother, Grayson. Hi, my name is Grayson and I just wanted to say that my favorite part was the fighting in the overtime goal.
18:00Andrew: Bye bye.
18:01Justin: Bye bye. Perfect. Yeah. Fighting an overtime goal. What else do you want?
18:09Andrew: Of course, that was also my favorite.
18:15Justin: All right.
18:16Andrew: And our.
18:17Justin: Okay. We do not prep these in advance. So I have two here from Brandon. I'm assuming they're the same Brandon. I'm assuming they're the Brandon that voicemailed in a couple weeks ago, so.
18:30Andrew: Yeah, well, and one I think came in after we recorded the recap from game four. Oh.
18:37Andrew: So make sure that you play the game four one and then the game five one.
18:41Justin: Okay. So these are two games. Okay. Here we go, Brandon. Back to back.
18:45Brandon (voicemail): Hey, AudPod, it's Brandon. I just want to say the game tonight was just amazing to watch. To see that they have their spark back. And it was just amazing seeing just the game today that they played. They played great. And to see they have a chance to knock the Aud on home ice is just incredible. And I'm so glad they made it this far. To have my brother from college back to go to this game with me on Friday, and hopefully they can do it on Friday and knock the Aud and go for the cup. That's an amazing thing.
19:19Andrew: Hey, that's pretty cool.
19:20Justin: That's pretty cool. I love the fact that it's like you got your brother there and you're. And you're going to these games and.
19:26Andrew: Yeah. It's all about family.
19:28Justin: It's all about family. It's good that you guys have that. I'm. I'm really happy for you. If I had a brother, I would hope that he would show up, too. Okay, so that was obviously after game four, and now this one's after game five.
19:40Brandon (voicemail): What a win. AudPod. Down four, two, Come back and win it. That's incredible. Just incredible. And after 18 years, I can finally see an OHL final with the Kitchener Rangers.
19:53Justin: And I can't wait to see it, man. Yeah.
19:56Andrew: Did you hear that in his voice? And he said, after 18 years.
20:02Andrew: That's what it's about, man. That's when you have a drought. And I mean, it might sound like, you know, not as long of a drought for like a leaf span or something like that, but for in the Ohl, for a proud, storied franchise like the Rangers. I'm really getting the feeling that these last 17 years, 18 years, has been very. Felt like a lifetime for these fans. So I'm so excited that. And I feel spoiled being, you know, truly only in the infancy of being a Rangers fan.
20:37Justin: Yeah.
20:37Andrew: That we have experienced this kind of success so far.
20:40Justin: Yeah. Yeah. But, you know, you're welcome, Kitchener. Yeah. It's always us. It's obviously us. Yeah.
20:51Andrew: We're doing it.
20:54Justin: Okay. That was. That was it. If you want to voicemail in at literally any time, you can do it on our website, theaudpod.com there's a little banner at the top of the website that says record here. It kind of looks like an ad, it's orange. But it's not. It's the voicemail. So you can use that to record. We obviously our instant game reactions are pretty quick after the games, but if you do record one like right at the end of the game or, or even during the game or we will try and include that in our instant reactions if we miss it like Brandon's. We missed his game four one when we were doing the game four recap. And, and so we'll just leave it for our. Our end of series recap episode. So we, we've played them all so far so unless you say something really horrific, we'll probably play it and react to it and listen to it and we super appreciate it. They're awesome.
21:43Andrew: So yeah, we love them.
21:46Justin: Yeah, give us more. Get on there, give us your opinions. We love hearing it. So yeah. Thank you to everybody who's. Who's reached out. We really appreciate it. Three stars of the series. Yeah, three stars. Okay.
21:58Andrew: Who's your, who's your third star?
22:00Justin: Okay, this is, I know there's just
22:01Andrew: so many like this is just like one of those questions where like you're going to forget somebody.
22:07Justin: Yeah.
22:07Andrew: So like you can't because there, the whole team deserves something.
22:12Justin: Yes. My third, second and first star is the Tommy Kut my, my third star. I think I'm gonna go Christian Kirsch for my third star.
22:20Andrew: Nice.
22:21Justin: He super solid. I mean what, what more can you want out of your goaltender? You're, you're playing a tough, a tough series. We expected this one to go six or seven. We ended it in five and a lot of that was on the back of goaltending.
22:36Andrew: Absolutely.
22:37Justin: Game 5 specifically was a tough game and, and you know, he, he stood tall when he needed to and, and got that team that win in the end. So. Christian Kirsch, third star, who's yours?
22:49Andrew: My third star is the coaching staff.
22:52Justin: Yeah.
22:52Andrew: Because I think the Aud coached Greg Walters. I think obviously like the whole team deserves this and I, we're, we're going to, you know, always point that out, but I think the coaching staff truly out coach a great coaching staff in Windsor and made adjustments just as they needed to. And, and the fact that they got through a juggernaut in five games.
23:15Justin: I got to give it up to
23:16Andrew: the coaching staff who's your second star.
23:18Justin: I'm going to go with the Andalorian. There was some body thrown on the line in that, especially game five. That is definitely the most recent game in my head. But you know, in. In so many of the games he, he stood up, blocking shots. You know, these guys that they, they're the, they're the stay at home defenseman types, like they don't often get their credit and it was a tough series and, and I, I think the Ando, he was. He was pretty stellar. He was the Ando that we needed.
23:48Andrew: Yeah.
23:49Justin: Not necessarily the one we deserved. No, we deserved him. He's the totally.
23:52Andrew: We totally deserve him.
23:54Justin: Of course. What are we trying to say?
23:56Andrew: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
23:58Justin: Who's your second star?
23:59Andrew: My second star is Cameron Reid I think that like Cameron Reid I mean I could pick anybody, but Cameron Reid had some incredible plays in this series. I think none more than that zone entry that set up the tying goal in game five. I just, that's just like if you could point to one play that says this guy is an absolute stud gamer, grinder, fighter dog. Just all those words that describe exactly the type of person you want captaining your hockey team. Cameron Reid did it on that play. Gets it in, gets it to the two streaking in forwards. They didn't score but you know, Pridham goes behind the net, sends it out. And then of course Carson Campbell who I honorable mention Carson Campbell has had. I think he had more points in this series than he did in half the year. And, and it's just incredible to see. I absolutely love Carson Campbell from Campbellford but yeah, Cameron Reid is my second star. Who's your first star?
25:10Justin: They better put up a statue in Campbellford of Carson Campbell. They better y Campbellford. You better be listening Hit. My first star is our town the fans. At the end of the suit series we said we needed the. The fans to be positive and to really get behind the boys. And I felt like they did the. The game two, I felt like was the most electric arena I've ever been in. Everybody was buzzing for the team. Obviously we couldn't make it to game five, but I. You could feel the energy from the Aud at our home. Like you could feel. Feel it through the tv. It was. It was insane. You could feel the momentum. You could feel the fans were into it. The fans were feeling them. The fans are awesome. The Rangers fans are. Are just some of the best of the best. So first start goes to the fans.
26:02Andrew: Oh, I totally agree. I do want to do an Honorable mention because we weren't able to go to the game, and I was pretty bummed, and I was pretty, like, crazy, you know, fomo sitting at home being like, can't believe I'm not at this game. This is like the best game of all time. I. What I will say is I am really grateful that I got to hear the Rogers broadcast one more time. I thought. I thought that Jason called one of the best games of his life.
26:29Justin: Yep.
26:29Andrew: Dan was, you know, in championship form because he's that perfect. He's that perfect foil to Jason because Jason goes. Goes to 11, and Dan just is always cool as a cucumber.
26:43Justin: He's the. He's the stable base that you need.
26:45Andrew: That you need so desperately. But Jason was on point. Like, there was even. There was even one goal where he originally. It was the Eleanor's goal. He originally called it as Pridm. He didn't blow the call by being like, oh, actually it was Pridham. He just continued to react and made the correction and called Elenis. And I was like that. Like, the call was beautiful because he didn't stumble over that he had made a mistake. It was the next moment we all forgot that he momentarily said pri. I thought it was one of his best games I've ever heard him call. And of course, Sean Furaro, you know, friend of the pod or AudPod correspondent,
27:26Justin: former friend of the pod.
27:27Andrew: I think. I think. I think he's been re. Re upgraded now that he didn't make us Uber him around.
27:36Justin: Okay. Okay. Yeah, I think.
27:38Andrew: I think. Yeah, I think that we weren't. We weren't. That we. He let us have our dig. But yeah, Sean. Sean, obviously. I mean, coming in with the content between. I loved all the.
27:55Andrew: The little jabs at Windsor. He's. He's the best in the business. I just wanted to quickly point out that the broadcast team. I. I love our broadcast team. I think it's atrocious that they're just doing random broadcasters, even though I respect all three of those broadcasters that they're bringing in. I think that all three of those. Yeah, all three of those. Those people do really good job. And. And I'm not taking away that they don't deserve a platform to. To be there. I just think that, like, when you have an A plus broadcast team on the local, like, let. Let them run with it for the. For at least the home games anyway. My first star is the penalty kill. Oh, obviously. Obviously.
28:39Justin: How I. I lost the plot on that one completely.
28:42Andrew: My first. My first star Is a. I don't need to tell you why.
28:45Justin: Penalty couldn't score. Phenomenal.
28:47Andrew: Yeah. Windsor couldn't score and got negative or
28:51Justin: the negative 2 goal differential for Windsor on their power play.
28:54Andrew: That was the series.
28:55Justin: That was the series. Y. Yeah. Yeah. You let in three shorthanded goals and you only score one power play goal. Definitely you lose.
29:04Andrew: Thank you for allowing me my rant about the broadcast.
29:07Justin: Yeah, no, that was good.
29:08Andrew: I. I was passionate about. About that and I just.
29:11Justin: I love our broadcast team. I am.
29:12Andrew: Well, I just. I just think, like, if your team makes it, I just think that they. A certain level of, like, you know, well, you. You. You want your. Your guys in the booth. I just, you know, at least for the home. And the same. Same goes for Barry. Like, why doesn't Barry get their guys at the home? The home.
29:27Justin: Like, it's.
29:28Andrew: Whatever it is how it is, it's fine. Y. Y.
29:32Justin: It is exciting that TSN will be broadcasting and that, you know, there will be a bigger. There'll be a bigger reach with this than are typical. So.
29:40Andrew: But that's exactly why I think that they deserve it. Oh, I don't disagree because I. I want to see Sean Furfaro on Jason and Dan calling games on tsn. That's. Yeah, that's. They deserve it. They do it well. And. And I think it's a bit of a snub.
29:55Andrew: And it's, you know, it's one of those things where it's just like, who decided this?
29:58Justin: Yep.
29:59Andrew: Who cherry picked these Pl. These. These broadcasters? Again, nothing against them. Think they're. All three of them are wonderful at what they do. Just don't understand it. So maybe it can be explained. To me it won't be, but, you know, I would love to have a chat with Ohl Media and Sam O'Reilly would you do that?
30:19Andrew: Yeah.
30:20Justin: All right, after. After we say our thank yous here, we will. We will cut to our. To all of our mini episodes that we put together. So if you, you know, you just want to relive that Windsor series through our eyes and my car, you can. You can listen. Continue listening on. But of course, we have to shout out our director of branding and marketing,
30:43Andrew: Ken Born Papa Born We got a shout out for making us look somewhat professional.
30:48Justin: Somewhat professional.
30:50Andrew: One of these days, even though we recorded a car.
30:54Justin: Yep, yep, yep. We got to shout out the prodigal producer. And now voicemail.
31:00Andrew: Submit to Liam, the phenomenal phenom.
31:04Justin: The phenomenal phenom. Yeah, we got a shout out.
31:09Andrew: Tim,
31:12Justin: fix this Tim fix all of this. Tim makes us sound great and he does it in short notice, especially with those mini episodes. Exactly. Yeah. We look great. We sound great. Thank you, Tim.
31:25Andrew: We look okay. We look okay.
31:27Justin: Okay.
31:28Andrew: He makes it better.
31:29Justin: He makes us look great. He makes us look great. We don't look great. In regular. He takes us from a 2 to a 2.2.
31:44Andrew: Out of 3.
31:46Justin: Yeah. Out of 37.
31:51Andrew: Yeah.
31:52Justin: And of course, thank you to JJ for doing the voiceover and the intro. Just I think we said congratulations to her last time about ringing the bell, but just congratulations.
32:03Andrew: Well, yeah, and. And how sick is that? It was that the Cambridge Redhawks championship win that they won and I feel like she's been a big part of that for the Aud of course for the Rangers.
32:15Justin: Cambridge Redhawks man, too. So.
32:17Andrew: Yeah, totally. It's the best. And we also have to thank Sean for a different Sean. Sean Dugas for. Oh, yeah, right behind you, right here. Oh, my goodness. Sean and Ariel, I will Sam O'Reilly yeah, yeah. Who gave us this vintage Tex hand painted bobblehead and will. It is now a part of the pod permanently.
32:48Justin: If you're listening to this, like, you have to hop on the video just to take a look at this awesome text with the mustache, with the vintage
32:58Andrew: jersey petition in the off season to bring back the mustache.
33:01Justin: People want the mustache back. I also like the floppier hat. It's a. It's a good look. Totally. This is a good text. Yes. Thank you, Sean and Ariel.
33:10Justin: We appreciate it. He's gonna live here for the time being beside Tim.
33:16Andrew: Besides, I don't know if people know this.
33:18Justin: That's Tim sitting.
33:19Andrew: That's Tim. Yeah. That's Tim's mug shot.
33:21Justin: That's Tim's mug shot.
33:22Andrew: Yeah, yeah.
33:23Justin: When he was in Australia because that's where criminals go. And Andrew, how do you find us on the social medias?
33:35Andrew: You can find us at the AudPod on TikTok and Instagram and you can search us up on the Google machine and the YouTube machine. Just the AudPod. We come up immediately. We also come up just in general if you look up anyone we've ever talked about at this point. So that's good for us but bad for you. If you want accurate information, however. Yeah, send us an email. Hello@theaudpod.com and also leave us a voicemail@theaudpod.com it's right at the top. As, as Justin said, it looks a little bit like an ad, but it, it's. It's right there. And you can Just click it and it'll access your microphone and just. You'll be able to record right there. And we'll get it right away. So if you want to do it at the end of a game, do it quickly and hopefully we can get it in our inbox and we'll bring it on the pod, our reaction pod. Right away.
34:27Justin: Right away. Yep. Totally.
34:31Andrew: Yeah.
34:31Justin: And, Andrew, on Wednesday night and Friday
34:34Andrew: night, you can find us at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.
34:39Justin: See you at the Aud for the finals. Okay, that was game one of the Western Conference final, and my butt is so clenched right now.
34:50Andrew: Yeah. My guts are inside out right now.
34:53Justin: Yeah.
34:54Andrew: Excuse me.
34:57Justin: This is totally not my Uber.
35:01Andrew: See you guys. Was that Sean Furfaro?
35:06Justin: I think that was Sean Furfaro.
35:07Andrew: I would have thought that he'd be getting a limo.
35:11Andrew: Yeah.
35:11Justin: Round three.
35:12Andrew: Round three.
35:13Justin: All right. All right. Well, this is Road to The Robertson episode 10. Okay, like, what do we even talk about?
35:19Andrew: I don't know, man. That was a crazy game. That was one of the craziest live sporting events I. I've ever been to. As far as just like, nerves.
35:25Justin: Yes, nerves. It was all nerves.
35:28Andrew: Yes. I can't even remember the beginning of the game. Like. No, I. I'm sorry. It's gonna be a real lack of detail in the breakdown because I basically remember that it got to three or three.
35:40Justin: Yeah. And then we blacked out.
35:41Andrew: And then we blacked out for like an hour.
35:46Justin: Okay. I remember that.
35:49Andrew: Pridm got his first goal. We called it AudPod.
35:52Justin: Called it, called it, called it, called it. Balecki legend. Anstice and Balecki are magic.
35:58Andrew: Yeah, they're. They're playing extremely well, especially Anstice with limited opportunities. Balecki obviously playing like kind of third pairing minutes. He looks so confident jumping up into the play. We got to talk about Cameron Reid Cameron Reid No one ice in the veins. No one can break this guy off his stride.
36:17Justin: He.
36:18Andrew: He can have a guy all over him and he can skate out of his own zone and not. Not miss a beat, and it's. It's not bothering him, and there's guys breathing on him, and it's. That's. That's what he's going to need in the NHL. He's gonna.
36:31Justin: He can walk that blue line when he's holding the line.
36:33Andrew: How many times did he do it tonight? Yeah, how many times did he do it tonight? There was one time where he blew a tire, fell down, and still managed to get the puck into the corner. The, like, Dylan Edwards. And there was a scoring chance.
36:44Justin: Yeah.
36:44Andrew: This was an unbelievable game. Like, these were the big boys playing big time minutes.
36:50Justin: My God, Windsor is aggressive.
36:52Andrew: Oh, my God. They were dive bombing from the blue line in overtime, trying to, you know, end it with a bad turnover.
37:02Justin: Yeah.
37:03Andrew: From Kitchener in their own zone.
37:05Andrew: They were so aggressive. And it was. It was every time, like, I mean, I'm just. I'm sore from clenching.
37:11Justin: Yes.
37:11Andrew: I'm so sore from clenching my abs.
37:13Justin: I'm going to have a six pack tomorrow, right? I definitely have a one pack now.
37:16Andrew: No, I don't think you're going to have a six pack tomorrow. I think you're going to be very disappointed now if we watch that game every single day. Yeah, I think you have a six pack pretty quickly.
37:26Justin: Yeah.
37:27Andrew: True, True.
37:27Justin: Yeah. Okay, quick recap from my memory. Windsor scored in the first minute of the game. And I said to you, I think this is good.
37:37Andrew: This is a good omen.
37:39Justin: This is when Rangers play the best.
37:41Andrew: Yeah, definitely.
37:41Justin: And then that was true. The second period, little flat footed, a little slow, a little sluggish, which was not the case in the first period and was not the case in the third period.
37:52Andrew: No.
37:54Justin: People scored. Pridham scored. Humphries was amazing.
37:58Andrew: Humps had an amazing game.
37:59Justin: I think he had three assists or something.
38:01Andrew: He was all over the ice. He was a driving force on that line. Obviously, we ended up in overtime. I will say, like, you know, the goals that they scored, Windsor scored throughout the. Throughout regulation, they were all goals.
38:14Justin: Yeah. No, you're not. You're not. You're not unhappy about any of those. They were real goals.
38:18Andrew: No. And then obviously the overtime period was terrifying.
38:21Justin: Yes.
38:22Andrew: There was so many opportunities for both teams. Didn't. It started to feel like maybe there was going to be, you know, too many missed opportunities for Kitchener and maybe like a lame one. That's what it just felt like that would just go in. It felt like that.
38:38Justin: There was about five minutes left in overtime and there was a. There was a loose puck that was trickling towards the net. Kirsch was not. He wasn't out of the position. He went to save the puck that was shot, but it got blocked. It sort of was trickling. It felt like the one that was going to go in, there was another one that kind of lobbed over top of the net. That just felt like a stupid one that might go in.
38:57Andrew: Yeah.
38:57Justin: And it was all just those. And it was like, oh, no, is it going to be the worst goal ever? I know those.
39:03Andrew: Those Fluttering pucks that were hitting the glass and stuff like you just mentioned. I was like, oh, no, it can't be that.
39:08Justin: No, it can't be that.
39:10Andrew: And thankfully it wasn't.
39:11Justin: It wasn't.
39:11Andrew: But there was a power play call. There was a penalty.
39:14Justin: There was almost no penalties in this game.
39:16Andrew: And they put them away.
39:17Justin: And I will Sam O'Reilly no, no penalties called. Yeah, many, many penalties, but on both sides.
39:23Andrew: But this is what I will say is that I thought it was balanced. I think that they agreed egregious stuff was absolutely, you know, called and then pretty much everything else has played between the whistles pretty fairly. Like, you know, I think if there was like somebody hauled down on a breakaway or something like that, it would have been called. It would have called AudPod, you know, I appreciated that. It was very consistent tonight as far as it. And then of course, in overtime there was the call.
39:47Justin: It was a high stick and there was blood. It was very. It was clear as day. It was.
39:51Andrew: It was one of the only calls they were going to make. Yeah, was like a high sticking that drew blood especially.
39:56Justin: I was worried that it was going to be a puck. My. My least favorite penalty.
40:01Andrew: But yeah, obviously we have the clip. Tim, you can. Tim, run the clip right now.
40:07Justin: Four minutes of power play time in overtime. It starts with a face off win back at the blue line. Humphreys the shot. Rebound may score. Of course.
40:18Andrew: It's O'Reilly.
40:20Justin: Oh, baby. The Rangers grab game one.
40:27Andrew: Sam O'Reilly Sam O'Reilly What is. We just met Sam O'Reilly parents.
40:31Justin: We were. We were starting recording and his parents walked by and they gave us hugs like they knew us forever.
40:36Andrew: Yeah, I know.
40:37Justin: Loveliest people I know.
40:38Andrew: The two of them, they hugged us like we. We were family.
40:41Justin: Yeah.
40:41Andrew: And raved about the AudPod.
40:44Justin: Yeah.
40:44Andrew: And we'll take that.
40:45Justin: Any.
40:45Andrew: We'll take that. And we absolutely love them for Giving us Sam O'Reilly You know, they're lovely people and their son is hero. And he's for sure. He's our. He's our MVP candidate.
40:58Justin: Oh, yeah.
40:59Andrew: And he's just Mr.
41:00Justin: Clutch.
41:01Andrew: He's just so you want to talk about Cameron Reid Ice in the veins. It's like, it's. It's like negative. A thousand Kelvin in. In Sam O'Reilly bloodstream. He's just out there.
41:12Justin: He's working on the far side of the moon. Yeah, exactly.
41:15Andrew: Yeah, exactly like.
41:16Justin: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
41:17Andrew: No blood oxygen level whatsoever. He's just out there to win championships.
41:22Justin: Yeah, he is a Championship machine.
41:24Andrew: Yeah. He is an incredible player.
41:26Justin: Yeah.
41:27Andrew: And he ends it because. And he had to. It was one of those things where I think, you know, if you were putting Vegas odds, he'd be the overwhelming favorite to end it because he scores
41:37Justin: game winners so many times.
41:39Andrew: Yeah. Yeah.
41:40Justin: Over time is his favorite, period.
41:41Andrew: That's what he does.
41:42Justin: Yeah.
41:42Andrew: Yeah.
41:44Justin: We could wax poetic about pretty much every player on this team. I'm just going to say blocky again because I. Blecki had a phenomenal game.
41:50Andrew: Yeah.
41:51Justin: Ando had a phenomenal game. Yeah.
41:53Andrew: Oh, Jared Woolley. We didn't even talk about this. Jared Woolley tried to go between the legs. He had a crazy shift and then he went back and absolutely leveled someone
42:03Justin: on the same ship. And I think he lost his man at the beginning of that shift. It was crazy. It was like, who is this guy?
42:09Andrew: Chaos.
42:09Justin: The Werewolf of London is out for blood tonight.
42:13Andrew: It was unbelievable. We loved everything about this game. Even though I was terrified.
42:17Justin: Yes.
42:18Andrew: The fact that it ended the way it did made it all okay.
42:20Justin: I haven't cheered that loud as a fan of a sporting event in so long. It was wonderful.
42:25Andrew: No, you're a Calgary Flames fan and I think that's.
42:30Justin: It's okay.
42:31Andrew: It's okay.
42:32Justin: Game two of round three of the road to the Robertson is on Sunday, so we'll be back the Aud okay. I got to see Hunter Bage tonight. You did.
42:42Andrew: And I got to. I got to tell Sam O'Reilly parents how Sam O'Reilly am that the Oilers traded him to Tampa.
42:48Justin: Well, we just finished game two of round three against Windsor. Road to the Robertson. Number 11.
42:55Andrew: Oh, my God.
42:56Andrew: So many numbers. Two to one. Victory is all that matters tonight.
43:00Justin: Yeah, it did. It almost looked like it might not be enough, but it was. That's true.
43:05Andrew: That was enough.
43:06Justin: Oh, that was a. Like. Why do we have so many butt clenching games?
43:10Andrew: I'll tell you, it wasn't. It almost wasn't enough because they hit the. They hit the post in those dying minutes after Kitchener hit the double. The double doink.
43:19Justin: The double dinker.
43:20Andrew: The double poster.
43:21Justin: Yeah.
43:22Andrew: I've never seen that on an empty netter.
43:24Justin: No, me either.
43:24Andrew: The.
43:25Justin: Yeah. Sam O'Reilly he. He just took a moment, really zoned in.
43:29Andrew: A moment too long maybe.
43:31Justin: One moment too long perhaps. But in the end, it didn't even matter.
43:34Andrew: It didn't matter.
43:35Justin: No.
43:35Andrew: Thank goodness.
43:37Justin: So this was. This was another crazy game. Crazy. Windsor scored immediately in the first period. Again, took that one nothing lead Bad turnover. Bad turnover.
43:47Andrew: There were repercussions for young Andrew MacNiel Yeah, he didn't play until one of the last shifts of the first period. Then he played the rest of the game intermittently like as usual and, and played well.
43:59Justin: He had some good moments. He even had a scoring chance at one point. It was good. Yeah, so. So that, that first period was rough. Like the, the Rangers did not play well in that first period.
44:10Andrew: No, it was very disjointed. Yep, very disjointed.
44:13Justin: But then in the second period, they, they came back. I, I felt like the disjointedness sort of lasted the whole game. Like they, they best game. The whole game.
44:23Andrew: No, there, there was some, there was some weird stuff going on, I think. But I think Windsor's that type of team where they force you to, you know, they play you really hard along the boards. They're a large team. They are very aggressive and they dive bomb all the time when, when we're trying to do our breakout. And I think you see that the Rangers are going to have to adjust. I think the fact that the Rangers are up to nothing is incredible.
44:47Justin: Yeah.
44:48Andrew: Because they need to make adjustments. I think if they make these adjustments going to Windsor, even the Aud going to be in their barn, I think we're going to have a little bit shorter series than I originally thought. That's just if they make those adjustments.
45:02Justin: Yeah, I agree. I think that maybe there was some nerves still lasting into this game and I'm hoping that getting out of town, going to the away game sometimes that actually helps alleviate some of those things.
45:14Andrew: Up to nothing too. In two very close games, we obviously, we saw Jack Pridham score the game winner shorthanded, which was in the second period. We didn't know it was a game winner.
45:26Justin: Yeah.
45:26Andrew: And we also, of course we saw the tying goal earlier in the second period on the power play with Sam O'Reilly on the power play from Jack Pridham So that connection is just going.
45:35Justin: Which all, which all started with a pretty massive four minute penalty kill.
45:40Andrew: Yes.
45:41Justin: At the beginning of the second period.
45:42Andrew: Very good point. The penalty kill was on point tonight.
45:45Justin: Oh, the penalty kill looked amazing, like huge. We got a, we got a major league shout out. Carson Campbell. We saw that guy take so many important blocks, block shots in the middle of the, the second period, into the third period, the PK 5 on 5, wherever he needed to be. He was blocking amazing shots.
46:06Andrew: He, he made, he made some great blocks. He also made some good plays to just get the Puck out when, like I said, Windsor is so aggressive. Dive bombing, trying to like, you know, force a mistake. Yeah. And Carson Campbell has to deal with that. And Carson Campbell not necessarily a puck mover.
46:22Justin: Yeah.
46:23Andrew: And he, he dealt with that very well. I thought that Cam Reed and Alexander Bilecki dealt with that really well as well because they are the puck moving, you know, puck carrying type defenseman. And, and Windsor, they are all over that.
46:37Justin: the Soo aggressive.
46:39Andrew: Yeah, so aggressive. But ultimately, yeah, the whole team were blocking shots when they needed to.
46:44Justin: Yeah.
46:45Andrew: When you see Carson Campbell blocking that many shots, you've got to block shots.
46:49Justin: Yeah. Like Tanner Lam Tanner Lam took also an incredible shot off his ankle.
46:53Andrew: Yeah.
46:54Justin: And he felt it, but he was back out there.
46:57Andrew: Yeah, you do it.
46:58Justin: This is when you do it, man. The going back to winds are being aggressive. Like they're aggressive in while playing, but they're also aggressive while not playing.
47:07Andrew: Oh, I know they're a team that they want to be bullies. They want to push them around, but Kitchener's not going for it and they're not reacting to it. I will say that. I think the, I thought the ref. The officiating was much worse tonight than it was.
47:23Justin: Let's get Frank back.
47:25Andrew: Yeah, well, yeah, the great linesman. There was some weird stuff going on even with the linesman tonight.
47:30Justin: Yeah.
47:31Andrew: But yeah, I was not a fan of the officiating tonight because it was inconsistent. It was really inconsistent when they took, when they took. I think it was Dylan Edwards. I'm sorry if that's was it. Or was it Sherratt? It was Sherrod. When they broke his stick.
47:45Justin: Oh, yeah.
47:46Andrew: Before the face off.
47:47Justin: Yeah, yeah.
47:48Andrew: So they, they broke his stick before the face off. A Windsor player slashed it and broke it.
47:52Justin: Yeah.
47:52Andrew: And they took both of them for unsportsmanlike conduct.
47:55Justin: Yeah.
47:56Andrew: Come on, come on. Don't either you don't take either. Or you just take the guy who broke the stick.
48:03Justin: Yeah, yeah, they, they also, they also put Ando in the box when they were clearly trying to draw a penalty from Ando. Like. Yeah, they were trying to get him to instigate a fight. They were trying to get under his skin.
48:17Andrew: And that's the thing. He's up 2 to 1 and he's trying to defend the lead. He's not going to fight.
48:20Justin: No.
48:20Andrew: But if you want to drop the gloves. I hate that.
48:23Andrew: And the Aud then as soon as the officials get in there and break you up, you're let me out. I'm let him.
48:29Justin: Yeah.
48:29Andrew: You just could have, you could have socked him. Yeah, like, you know what I mean? Like you got your gloves up in his face and hit him and knocked him down and now you' taking a penalty and now you're going to the box. Now you want to fight.
48:39Justin: Yeah.
48:39Andrew: Just give me a break. Give me a break. It's just, it's head games. It's not working. They're down 02 and I have to say they're down 02 because Christian Kirsch is playing every bit as good as Joey Costanzo. He is saving like there are moments where he is the difference maker in this series. Christian Kirsch Lights out tonight.
49:01Justin: There was, there was right after the four minute penalty kill that sort of gained the momentum. There was a, I think, I believe it was five on five. There was a great shot on Kirsch and he just flashed the leather and you could feel everyone, everyone around us was just like, okay, we're okay.
49:19Andrew: Yeah, we're okay.
49:19Justin: Yeah.
49:20Andrew: He's just steady as it comes. It's exactly what you need with the question marks that have been around him somewhat and not from the AudPod, but just from Rangers nation. If you aren't confident in Christian Kirsch moving forward after that performance tonight, you just don't like goalies.
49:43Justin: Jack Pridham had himself a night so he obviously got the shorthanded game winner which was phenomenal. I mean it came from a phenomenal pass from O'Reilly.
49:53Andrew: So gross. It was so.
49:55Justin: He was. They were all over O'Reilly. He had nothing. He had no.
50:00Andrew: He's chasing a, a clearing attempt on the shorthanded.
50:04Justin: Yeah.
50:04Andrew: And he, he goes in behind and no look passes. You want. We talked about apple of the year.
50:10Justin: Yeah.
50:10Andrew: Well, just went wide of Jack Nesbitt. Matt Ananoski clears for The Rangers and O'Reilly trying to get three fiber held his stick.
50:17Justin: Here's a check.
50:22Andrew: Short handed for the Rangers.
50:24Justin: Golden back to back games for Putam
50:27Andrew: and Rangers take their first lead of game two, two, one. There's the apple of the year.
50:36Justin: The apple of the year.
50:37Andrew: Sorry, Alexander Bilecki, you're gonna have two runner ups, I think because I think that was the apple of the year.
50:43Justin: It was pretty phenomenal. But the actual thing that I wanted to talk about was Jack Pridham with the head games at the beginning of the second period. So face off at 20 minutes first. Face off of the second period. I don't know which Windsor player it was but he was having a stick battle with Jack Pridham on the wing. And they were having a bit of a stick battle and Jack just sort of like flung the Windsor stick away from him right as the puck dropped. And the Soo the Windsor player, he went to turn around to retaliate at Jack, but Jack had already taken a step forward. So Jack was not there when he turned. And then Jack just gave him a little shove and he fell on the ice. It was phenomenal. I loved every moment of Jack Pridham just ruining this guy's day. Yeah.
51:29Andrew: What I like is Jack doesn't generally get too involved in the rough stuff. But I did see him a couple times tonight, like get up in guy's face.
51:40Justin: He gets frustrated.
51:41Andrew: And I just think, you know, I just think the bottom line is he's been creating offense in the first two rounds. It just hasn't been what we've done. Been accustomed to goals.
51:51Justin: But that's fine.
51:51Andrew: Who cares if you're, you know, you're, you're, you're 46, 47 goal man isn't scoring. If you're winning all the games, it doesn't matter.
52:00Justin: Exactly.
52:01Andrew: Now we're playing the, the elite opponent and he's scoring and he had the game winner. It's all you need.
52:06Justin: Yeah.
52:07Justin: So true.
52:07Andrew: So, yeah, anybody who's saying anything about Jack Pridham you gotta watch the games, not just look at the box.
52:13Justin: Yeah. Don't just look at the score. But looking at the score, you would also see that Sam O'Reilly scored his 12th goal in 11 games in the playoffs.
52:22Andrew: He's just.
52:22Justin: Insanity.
52:23Andrew: Unbelievable. I looked at you during the game and I said, where's he playing hockey next? Is it NCAA or is he still a Kitchener? I don't know.
52:32Justin: I don't remember if he signed or not, but dear God, I hope he's a Kitchener.
52:35Andrew: Oh, man. Yeah. Oh, man. Yeah. I could, I could. Another 68 games of Sam O'Reilly If
52:42Justin: I could get Humphries and Sam O'Reilly to play together here next year in their OA season.
52:48Andrew: Well, we must hatch a scheme. We must go now and hatch a scheme to keep them in Kitchener.
52:53Justin: Okay, so we're back tomorrow.
52:55Andrew: I know.
52:55Justin: And Monday night turnaround.
52:57Andrew: You're listening to this. You have less than 24 hours to
53:00Justin: listen to this because there's less than 24 hours at this moment. 7:00pm Monday, game three in Windsor. The WFU.
53:08Andrew: WFC.
53:09Justin: Oh, it's not Fu Center.
53:10Andrew: Yeah.
53:11Justin: Okay, well then let's just get out of here.
53:13Andrew: No, let's, let's, let's listen to our one speak Pipe.
53:15Justin: Oh, we got a speak pipe.
53:16Andrew: We got a. Yeah. Okay. This is from Mark and this has not been pre screened so it could say anything.
53:21Justin: Hey, Andrew.
53:22Andrew: Hey, Justin. What a game by Gabriel Sherrod. Probably one of his best games he's played. He was solid. Kersh stood on his head. What a game. Two big home wins.
53:34Justin: Yeah. Couldn't agree more. Sherrod had an amazing game. There was a little bit of line shuffling. He sort of got. He was up and down the lineup in different positions. But that actually just shows how skilled he is because he was able to play with whoever on the ice with
53:48Andrew: him and he does all the little stuff well.
53:51Justin: Right.
53:51Andrew: Like. Like he gets the puck in. He. He's also one of the guys that he, he'll. He'll force the puck in. He'll dump it in, he'll chase it, he'll get it.
53:59Justin: He'll.
54:00Andrew: He'll go to the dirty areas. A lot of skilled forwards on this team.
54:04Justin: Yeah.
54:04Andrew: And I don't. That's not disparaging that they're, they're dirty work.
54:07Justin: Yeah.
54:08Andrew: But like Gabriel Sherrod is a guy who works hard and will go to the dirty areas for sure.
54:15Andrew: Good point. Because sometimes we get bogged down in the beauty of the scores and all that.
54:21Justin: I think it's a good call out on shirt man.
54:24Andrew: Mark. Thank you, Mark.
54:25Justin: Yeah. Two voicemails in two episodes and both Legends. Right. Good work, Mark.
54:32Andrew: And not. He's still on an undefeated. No ums or us.
54:36Justin: I know it's a.
54:37Andrew: We're not.
54:39Justin: I went thinking, thinking about to Sam O'Reilly not on an UM streak. Yeah. So I guess according to the Windsor announcers, this is a real series now.
54:51Andrew: Right.
54:51Justin: Because they said 400 times during this broadcast that you. It isn't a real series until you lose a game on home ice.
55:00Andrew: And. And they still haven't.
55:02Justin: Oh, yeah. So it's not.
55:03Andrew: It's not a real series.
55:04Justin: Right. Yeah.
55:05Andrew: We're still waiting for this to be a real series. Yeah. Which is great because the Rangers lost, so it doesn't count.
55:10Justin: Yeah. So this is game three of round three, Road to the Robertson, episode 12. That was a lot of numbers. The Rangers lost four to two. We never thought this was going to be a sweep. Like. No, we've never said that because we knew that as soon as we went to Windsor last night we. 24 hours ago we did a podcast and Andrew said there has to be some major adjustments for when Windsor has last change and when there's a Travel day and no practice. How do you make those adjustments? Well, they didn't. Yeah.
55:47Andrew: I mean, really, I'd like to criticize the scheduling. I think that, yeah, that like, I mean, if the Rangers came out at flying and, and won this game for nothing, I wouldn't be saying this.
55:59Justin: So, yeah, obviously super biased opinion.
56:02Andrew: Obviously there's bias here. But I think playing, you know, 6pm Sunday and then traveling to Windsor and then, you know, staying in a hotel and getting up and having no practice and playing on the road obviously favors the home team in this situation. That's not why I think the Rangers lost. No, but it certainly contributed. I have to air out my grievances very quickly. I won't dwell on the Soo much, but I think the breakouts are still being attacked by Windsor. They need to. Tomorrow. They need to work on breakouts. The breakouts need to change. It just has to change. They need to take advantage of the two deep men. They keep three back and they go crazy hard with the two men up front dive bombing into the zone. They've been doing it now three games. It's been working. This is the first time it's resulted in a win. So ultimately I think like that's a major problem because there's. They're getting Sam O'Reilly plus plus chances on Kirsch off of these and it's also preventing a proper breakout with the Rangers, especially on the power play. The power play. They are extremely aggressive on the penalty kill. The Windsor Spitfires are extremely aggressive on the penalty kill with the Rangers breakout who like to do that, you know, that drop pass, slingshot kind of zone carry that we see things need to change. I think the adjustments will be made. I am not worried. It's two games to one. The Rangers are up. We're not, we're not treating this the other.
57:44Justin: The.
57:44Andrew: I have two more things. The, the. The board play. The Rangers need to. It's going to be uncomfortable a little bit, but they need to be more physical, I think. You know, I liked the makeup of that third line with Weston Cameron. I like what Gabe Schirot does and I know that Matthew Hlacar can bring more to this team even in limited minutes. These guys have to go out and make people pay along the boards because right now Windsor is winning the boards play again. This overwhelming skill of Kitchener has them up 2 to 1. But we have to look at like the possession metrics and those kinds of numbers and we're seeing that Windsor's winning those battles. Winning, preventing a proper breakout. And the other Thing which is also part of the breakout. It's kind of an addendum to the breakout grievance is the zone entries. The zone entries have to get better. They have to get my more diverse there. The dump and chase started working when you have those two guys who've dive bombed, if you can get past them. I noticed that on a couple shifts, the dump and chase was really effective. But then the board's play is where they're losing the puck possession. So I think it's literally kind of like one facet change the breakout, that'll change the zone entry and that'll help avoid losing board battles with a bigger, you know, more physical team. Because you can see it, as soon as Kitchener gets space, they score. They have had limited opportunities where they've had space in the offensive zone, but once they get cycling, there's either an A plus chance on goal and Costanzo has to make a big save, or they bury it and they score. That's why they're up two games to one. So I have no doubt that the Rangers are. I've seen three games now. The Rangers are the more skilled team. The Rangers have the higher offensive upside. Now it's just about getting in space.
59:41Justin: Yep. The Rangers also got stuck in some penalty trouble early, which when, when you put yourself down one goal again right at the beginning of the period and that was a five on three. So that wasn't just a, you know, five on five, like defensive blunder or anything like that. It was literally they put themselves down five on three for almost two full minutes and that, you know, they're gonna start the difference.
60:05Andrew: That was the difference because, yeah, there was an empty netter right. Right at the end of the game. So I mean really, that early goal, that early undisciplined situation the Rangers kind of brought to this one is what sunk their ship tonight. Yeah, for sure.
60:22Justin: There. There were some other moments that, you know, the Rangers didn't take great penalties, but I mean, the penalty kill is awesome. I. Part of, part of what made that first penalty kill so terrible is Carson Campbell and Matthew Andonovski were in the box, which are like two of your best penalty killers. So when your best penalty killers are in the box, it's going to be harder to penalty kill. I mean, we always have the, the offense first penalty kill, but you know, they got to get the puck too. So that was a little bit rough otherwise. Yeah, this game, you know, it was what it was. It was exactly how we expected it to be. Windsor was super aggressive. They've been doing this for three games now where they've been trying to create opportunities off of. Of extreme forechecking pressure and aggressive tactics. And, you know, I would Sam O'Reilly would say two of the four goals that they got tonight were based on that. One was based off a five on three and one was an empty netter. And so, you know, we, we said this last night. They had. They have last. Last change and that was going to favor this hyper, aggressive style of play that they have. So. So, yeah, I'm not worried about the Rangers either. I agree with everything you said. There's got to be adjustments, but I think those will come. I have full faith in this coaching staff to get everyone back into shape tomorrow and be ready for game four on Wednesday.
61:44Andrew: Well said.
61:44Justin: I agree. Yeah. So I don't know. Anything else you want to say about this game, Andrew? I feel like it was what it was. We knew this one was going to come.
61:54Andrew: And I mean, I, I liked the response at the end of the first period with Humps scoring a goal and I like the Archie goal and, and I thought. I thought Kirsch gave him a chance to win, so totally. I think, like, if you want to Sam O'Reilly know what, that turnaround was terrible and you're playing with last with, you know, with the first change and you're not getting your matchups and you're on the road and you're, you know, you're playing a good team. I think, all in all, not a bad loss at all. Now, I think that, you know, every loss in the playoffs feels like a bad loss, but I think, realistically, I believe in this team and I believe this team is the better team after watching three games. It's just. We just need some coaching adjustments and we just need some decision making. They need to make better decisions with the puck coming out of their own zone. And they'll beat Windsor.
62:45Justin: Yeah, Windsor has absolutely the worst score bug in the ohl. And Windsor, this is just a plea to, to your, your broadcast team for your last home game of this season. Can you please put the shot clock on just full time?
63:06Andrew: That would be. That would be a. That's a big ask, you know.
63:10Justin: You know, they threw it up there at one point and I was like, okay. And the Aud went away and I was like, just leave it up there.
63:17Andrew: Yeah, well, I mean, they're probably gonna, you know, count shots and Windsor the Sam O'Reilly they score fights, so. Yeah, I wouldn't trust it anyway.
63:25Justin: That's true. There. There was definitely a misnomer at the one of the intermissions because at one point The Rangers had 22 shots after the second period. So I was like, I don't know what's going on. I was like, okay, cool. Here we are. We got a voicemail.
63:43Andrew: We did a speak pipe as it is on our website. Please, please, if you're listening to this right now, leave us a voicemail for the next episode. Obviously not now. It's over. We're gonna listen to Brandon's voicemail. Here we go, Brandon.
64:01Brandon (voicemail): Hey, AudPod, it's Brandon here with a little update on how the series is going. In my opinion. I feel like game one was a little bit of a rough start and game two, the first period was a little rough start and they got better, but today they just didn't have as much effort in them today to get it finished. And that, in my opinion, how they lost. If they would have pushed themselves more, they could have come up with the win today. But hopefully in game four and five, they can try to come up with the win and knock out a spitfire.
64:36Justin: I, I 100% agree. Yep, there was.
64:40Andrew: I think my only caveat is I just, I don't think they had it in the gas tank tonight. Yeah, I just don't think they did. I think it wasn't so much as a will to win, but just like. Yeah, it wasn't going to happen tonight.
64:51Justin: Yeah, I think, I think wins are needed to win this one and more than the Rangers needed to win this one.
64:57Andrew: Yeah.
64:57Justin: Yeah.
64:58Andrew: I think the true test now will be game four because three one and two two, you know, is worlds difference. So.
65:04Justin: Time. Yeah.
65:05Andrew: Yeah. Well, thank you, Brandon.
65:07Justin: Thank you, Brandon. That was, that was awesome.
65:09Andrew: And honestly. Yeah. Put Farwell on, on the radio and sync it up because, oh, my God, it was brutal.
65:21Justin: It's just brutal.
65:23Andrew: It's just brutal. It's just, it's just, it's just one note. Like, he's got a. He's got a good voice, don't get me wrong. Yeah, it's just one note. And I know that we're, we're talking, we're harping on something that has nothing to do with the game, but man, did it take the enjoyment out of
65:37Justin: the game to so draggy. It's like, oh, we were up for nothing at one point and I was like, not excited about it.
65:44Andrew: No, I know, I know, I know
65:46Justin: he's the away guy, but it's also one broadcast.
65:49Andrew: Yeah, but like, you know, both, both, you know, Mike and Jason are two. You know, our Radio and our tv. Play by play, guys. They. There's excitement that builds into the play.
66:01Justin: Yes. And even when Windsor had almost a comeback, there was no excitement. I know. It was like, this is your chance, man.
66:13Andrew: I know. He's like, you know, the Spitfires have breathed some life into this crowd here tonight in this third period by scoring two goals. I was like, you'd never know it. Not from you.
66:28Justin: No.
66:29Justin: Not from you. Okay. Anyway, not enough harping on broadcasters. We're sorry, but not sorry. We won this game handedly like this. This game. I mean, I know the final score was 6 to 3, but, I mean, the Rangers had this in hand. They scored the first goal for the first time in the series, which was exciting.
66:49Andrew: the Aud was a little nerve wracking for me because I was like, is this going to be the opposite? Because they scored first.
66:55Justin: I know sometimes when they score second, it's better. But then they scored four in a row. Yeah. Which, you know, changes the. The feeling quite a bit.
67:08Andrew: Went 0 for 7 on the power play.
67:11Justin: Yeah. That's insane. They got so many power plays. I. It really felt. This is like. I. There was a lot about this game I did not enjoy. I didn't feel like the penalties were called in anywhere fairly. Like so much stuff was happening to the Rangers and they were only calling stuff against the Rangers.
67:32Andrew: It was like, no. And I understand, like, to some degree, if a team's up for nothing, you're not going to get the calls. But it's also like. It's also like, there's just like a point where you're just kind of like eye rolling because you're just like, okay, so they can just do whatever they want and not get a penalty.
67:48Justin: They can fully elbow Lamb in the head and push him to the ground and create an opportunity that they then score on because they're losing. Yeah.
67:59Andrew: Yeah. I mean, what I will preface all this with is. I mean, everybody was going tonight. Everybody had thought a good. A good game. It was difficult to appreciate it with, you know, you know, the. The man reading from, you know, War and Peace, like some sort of boring. I don't know, not even War and Peace, but just re. It just sounds like he's. I don't know.
68:23Andrew: It's just. It's just too much. It's.
68:25Justin: It's just. It.
68:26Andrew: It's such a stark contrast to the excitement of the hockey game.
68:30Justin: Yes.
68:30Andrew: That it. That it does bother you.
68:32Justin: This was game four of the Western Conference final.
68:36Andrew: I know.
68:37Justin: It felt like a Tuesday night game against Mismatch Night.
68:41Andrew: It really does. And I mean, I gotta Sam O'Reilly special shout out to the, to the gentleman who does the interviews in between the second and third period in studio for your tv. It's incredible. He does about as much preparation as
68:55Justin: we do, which is nothing.
68:58Andrew: The difference is, you know, it's supposed to be official for him.
69:04Justin: Okay. Yeah, yeah. We should stop. We should stop complaining because we won. Luca Romano had an amazing night. Sam O'Reilly had an amazing night. Night, yes.
69:13Andrew: Cameron Arquette had an amazing night.
69:14Justin: Oh, yeah, yeah.
69:16Andrew: Cameron Humphries.
69:17Justin: Carson Campbell had an amazing night.
69:19Andrew: Yes. Christian Kirsch had an amazing night.
69:21Justin: Dylan Edwards looked electric out there. Like, you know, it's crazy when like Sam O'Reilly and Jack Pridham or, sorry, Jack Pridham and like, yeah, Christian Humphreys kind of get buried because it's just like so much, so much good. Every line was firing.
69:39Andrew: Haeden Ellis was back.
69:41Justin: Haeden Ellis was back. Elena's was warming up but didn't play. 13 forward. That's good sign.
69:49Andrew: Didn't, didn't, didn't need him tonight. Didn't need him to need him. They do need him, but they didn't
69:53Justin: need to rest him because we'll need him in the next round, you know. Yeah.
69:59Andrew: Well, here's what I will Sam O'Reilly don't want to look past Windsor because that's just something that Windsor does. Windsor likes to look past, especially when they're up three nothing. You remember that?
70:09Justin: Yeah, yeah, that's true. I, I could see how that could go poorly for us.
70:14Andrew: Yes, exactly. So we don't want to, we don't want to look past Windsor. We don't want to look past the fourth win. Always the hardest one to get, as the Soo It's always the, the hardest one to get.
70:24Justin: The last one is the last. Yeah, you always look. The thing that you're looking for is always in the last place you look because you stop looking.
70:33Andrew: That's true.
70:37Justin: Yeah. Haeden Ellis, he looked great. He was out there. Cameron Arquette, I was. The commentators were really thought he was injured and then they, he immediately came out on the next shift and scored. So I think he's fine.
70:53Andrew: Also, let's, let's be honest here. Windsor gave a spitfire the third star and Carson Campbell didn't get a star and he had the game winner and an assistant.
71:04Justin: Yeah.
71:05Andrew: And I don't have how many blocks he had because that's not available to me. But I know he had some blocks as well.
71:11Justin: Yeah, yeah. He. So you know Gabriel shirt also got homer things. Oh, that was an empty nickel, but yes. Yeah, it was a bit of homer. Yeah, it was a. It's weird because who. Who makes the three stars? It's the commentators, right?
71:27Andrew: Yes, it is the media.
71:29Andrew: Yeah, yeah.
71:30Justin: Cool. We won. We're going back to the Aud Let's hope we don't have to go back to Windsor. That's what. That's actually what I want to hope.
71:38Andrew: I. I will. I will tell you, I will not be listening to that commentator.
71:41Justin: Yeah. And I will. I will be putting Farwell on there.
71:43Andrew: Farewell.
71:44Justin: Yeah, for sure. Farwell on the radio while watching the TV is what I will be doing.
71:49Andrew: No matter how much pausing. No matter how much pausing we have to do to try and sync up the radio and the tv, I will make it happen.
71:58Justin: Yeah.
71:59Justin: So worth it. Yeah. Pretty dominant game.
72:03Andrew: Dominant game. Yeah. Everybody played well. Yeah.
72:06Andrew: They ended up with three goals, you know, in the third. But it was. At no point did it feel like they had momentum after those first two goals were scored. It looked like, okay, maybe they will. And then, you know, six and a half minutes later, Luca Romano scores shorthanded, and you're just like, oh, no, this is over. We're going back to back, you know, to the Aud up three games to one.
72:29Justin: Does Windsor. Windsor has a negative two power play goal differential, right. Yeah.
72:36Andrew: Yeah.
72:36Justin: Because they've. They've scored on one power play opportunity in the series and the Rangers have three shorthanded goals.
72:44Andrew: Yep. Yep. Like, I. This is. I mean, I don't want a victory lap, but we did say that, you know, if.
72:50Andrew: If Kitchener makes adjustments, they are the more skilled team. They're going to beat them. the Aud that was exactly what we saw, was they had one extra day of practice and it all changed it.
73:01Justin: I. It was the clearest. The clearest moment of that to me was in the. Aud was in the first period. Windsor was doing their crazy dive bomb thing during a line change, and Cameron Reid was standing behind the Kitchener net, and he just waited for the. The Spitfire to make his commitment, and then he just, like, very easily got the puck away. And then all of a sudden, the Rangers had numbers going the other way because the other guy is way far back. Yeah, it was like, oh, as soon as they planned for it, they were ready for it. Like, it was so easy to counteract.
73:34Andrew: Yeah, it was. It was just, you know, adjustments were made.
73:39Justin: Yes.
73:39Andrew: And it just felt like. It felt like you had two heavyweight boxers and one was being super aggressive and it, you know, the, the, the, you know, the Rangers, if they were the boxer, they're, they're winning the rounds on the scorecard. But the last round they got caught by one and now what do they need to do? They need to counter punch, and that's what they did tonight. It was just like, it was just like, rather than try and just slug it out, it was like, you know what we're going to do? We're going to make little adjustments and we're going to take advantage of when Windsor is overly aggressive. And, you know, they were 2 for 3 on the power play. That's, you know, that was huge to start the game. They punished them, punished them with those early power play goals in the first.
74:26Justin: Yeah, 100%. Yeah. I don't have anything else to say about this game. It was. From a Ranger standpoint, it was great. From an entertainment standpoint, it was terrible. And that's, that's where we're at.
74:38Andrew: So, yeah, don't get me wrong, the action was great.
74:41Justin: The action was presentation. The presentation, not great. Yes.
74:47Andrew: Plated very poorly.
74:49Justin: It's like when they. Jackson Pollock. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. But it's all. They just brown goop.
74:55Andrew: Just put it in a blender.
74:57Justin: It tastes delicious.
74:58Andrew: But they blended it.
75:00Justin: Yeah. Okay, enough making fun of everyone. This was what, what episode are we on? Is this 13? Is this our unlucky road to the Robertson lucky?
75:12Andrew: But it wasn't unlucky.
75:13Justin: It wasn't unlucky. It was great. Okay, so the. Soo we're back on Friday night at home at the Aud May 1, 7 o' clock game. Game five. I mean, hoping it's the last one of the series. Western Conference champions. You're. I'm having profit.
75:34Andrew: Severe FOMO here at my house. Severe. This is the most FOMO I've ever had in my life.
75:41Justin: We should be in our cars. The Rangers just won five to four. They won the Western Conference. They won the Wayne Gretzky cup. And they didn't touch it. No touching.
75:50Andrew: They didn't touch it.
75:51Justin: No touching. We, We. Andrew and I discussed this before the game. Are they going to touch it? I was like, maybe Sam Riley will get them to touch it because they touched it and they won. But they didn't touch it.
76:01Andrew: Didn't touch it.
76:02Justin: So I didn't, I didn't think they were going to touch it.
76:04Andrew: They didn't touch it.
76:05Justin: They did not touch.
76:06Andrew: No touching.
76:07Justin: No touching. No touching. What a crazy game. Down three to nothing in the first 10 minutes. Yeah. And Then Luke Ellinas is back. And then he was back, back.
76:22Andrew: I told you before the game that they were going to go. I said two nothing. I could see them down two nothing. I just felt like Windsor was going to come out hungrier, you know?
76:30Justin: Yes. And they did.
76:32Andrew: Yeah.
76:32Justin: Yeah. Windsor was into it. We are, we were recording it. This is all. This is so scattered. But that's whatever we are at home because we were dadding tonight. So we didn't make it to the Aud I can't even imagine.
76:43Andrew: Should have abandoned the children.
76:45Justin: Yeah, they should.
76:45Andrew: There. You know what? They're fine. You know, in the finals to take care of them. They're old enough now. Yeah, they're old enough now.
76:51Justin: Come on.
76:51Andrew: They. Can you just put down a little food and water? That's how you deal with it. Yeah, it's like a cat.
76:57Justin: Under two, Come on. Yeah. Over one is really what's the worst
77:01Andrew: that's going to happen.
77:02Justin: They're in a cage. It's fine.
77:04Andrew: I'm telling you, the dogs can watch them.
77:06Justin: Exactly.
77:07Andrew: We both have dogs.
77:08Justin: It's fine. The dogs.
77:09Andrew: So they're on it.
77:11Justin: Yeah, it was, it was, it was pretty intense. Luke Ellen scored and all of a sudden it felt big. It felt like the Rangers had it. As soon as Elena's put that puck in the net, I knew they were
77:23Andrew: going to win this game.
77:24Justin: I, I had the same feeling. I was like, like, they're gonna do this. Yeah.
77:28Andrew: Whole game I was like, no, they're gonna win.
77:30Justin: Yeah.
77:30Andrew: Even when they went down 4, 2 because they, they, you know, they clawed back Humps got the second goal. Beauty Snipe. And the Aud was three to two.
77:37Justin: Yeah.
77:38Andrew: And even when Windsor scored that nice backhand goal, that spell goal that put them up 4 to 2, I was like, doesn't matter as long as they score, as long as Kitchener gets one here. Like in the early in the third period.
77:51Justin: Yeah.
77:51Andrew: And sure enough they did Sam O'Reilly Of course. Unbelievable moves. Unbelievable moves and a beauty tuck.
78:00Justin: It was the pass of a lifetime from.
78:02Andrew: And yeah. And he just. It was when, when you saw that they scored the third goal, you just knew. Oh yeah. It was four to three. You knew that there was way too much time.
78:12Justin: There was. Yeah. There was another goal in them easily.
78:14Andrew: There was. And it was like, it was like most of the period left in the third and it was a one goal game.
78:21Justin: Windsor. Windsor had five shots from the start of the third period to the 10 minute point in the overtime period.
78:30Justin: The Rangers were all over them you could see that they were just dog tired. Their hyper aggressive play does not last 60 minutes.
78:39Andrew: No, no. You could see the fitness. It was just. And I also felt like Windsor was a little bit more gripping their sticks a little bit more in this one.
78:47Justin: Well, they, they had a pretty massive opportunity in overtime. Kirsch had like an unbelievable double save. That's the video where I don't even know who it was. Windsor whiffed on it. Green tree maybe whiffed on it and then spell it was. Somebody had another opportunity.
79:05Andrew: Unbelievable. Pass right to the like the slot.
79:08Justin: He's alone through the slot to the far side.
79:11Andrew: Yeah, it was crazy. And, and Kirsch stood tall. Kirsch did everything they needed him to do. I don't, I don't blame him for the goals tonight at all. I thought that he more than a chance to hang in there. Kitchner just put it, you just, you had to put it on Joey Castanzo. They had to, to shoot the lights out and that's what they did. They ended up with 48 shots and that's what they had to do.
79:36Justin: Almost won them this game. Like.
79:38Andrew: Yeah, totally.
79:39Justin: He had a, he had an unbelievable save at the beginning of the, of the overtime period as well. Like Edwards had a wide open net and he just, just slid across.
79:49Andrew: And yeah, Eddie was sniffing around all game. I wasn't surprised in the least that Eddie scored the game winner in overtime. That was, that wasn't very surprising at all. I was hoping the script I guess was Ellenus, but Eddie scoring it. He, he's just so hungry out there to, to win in his overager season. And I gotta, I gotta mention Cameron Reid effort on the tying goal to get the puck into the zone along the boards. And the Aud I, I can't remember who one touches it to Pridham and then Pridham gets, it's a save. And then Pridham goes behind the net and throws it out and a Ranger actually misses the pass and it goes on to Carson Campbell. But I, I, and of course Carson Campbell scores a beauty shot from, you know, base. Just puts it right past Costanzo. It was the walls closing in on Windsor on that whole sequence, right. But it starts with the captain. It starts with Cameron Reid Unbelievable effort during. Along the boards trying to get in there. And the other defenseman that I got to point out, not just Carson Campbell who scored of course the biggest goal, the game tying goal. But Ando really played well tonight. It was he, he got sent to the box on a. What is it coincidentals or whatever they call them. Not coincidentals. Offsetting. Yeah, that was BS that there. That whole sequence with. There was a. Before the spelacy fourth goal for Windsor that was. There was terrible officiating at that point. And then they just went back to letting them play. I don't. There was this one section of the game where they started calling penalties.
81:34Justin: Minute section where they just like called so many penalties and it was like why it was weird. You didn't call so much horrible stuff. Stuff. And then you're calling these weird soft. Anyways, I. Yeah, but it doesn't matter.
81:48Andrew: Doesn't matter matter because they won.
81:50Justin: They're one. They're going to the finals. Branford hasn't won. Barry won last night. They're going to game six tomorrow.
81:56Andrew: So I would love to see at least a game seven in that series. Just push it. Just push it.
82:03Justin: Yeah.
82:04Andrew: Obviously for our travel, Brantford would be better.
82:09Justin: We can go to all the games
82:10Andrew: but Barry's not that far either. So we could.
82:13Justin: We could hit a game in Barry. I don't know if we could go to all the games.
82:17Andrew: Well, I mean we were. We weren't at this game 10 minutes from my house, so I don't see that happening. But yeah, it's. It's gonna be a dog fight in. In Barry or. Yeah, it's in Barry. Tomorrow. Tomorrow night. Tomorrow night.
82:34Justin: Yeah.
82:34Andrew: And I'm looking forward to that. I'll actually be able to watch that game because often, you know, there's other things going on when we're trying to follow one team is often, you know, difficult to follow. But I'm excited for that game. I'm over the moon that this group has got as far as they've got. I think that they're still not satisfied. It's pretty obvious when the Humphreys interview after the game. Yeah, he was just kind of like. Yeah, like it's. It's nice to win but. But it's not really the thing.
83:08Justin: It's not what we're here for.
83:09Andrew: Yeah, it's exactly.
83:11Justin: Yeah. Everyone's super excited for a few minutes. But yeah, they're all going back to work tomorrow because this is a one game at a time team and take
83:19Andrew: the night, enjoy the night and then, you know, get ready for tomorrow because
83:25Justin: you were supposed to drive to Windsor and that's true. That's nice maybe and then have a practice.
83:32Andrew: Oh, that's going to be a long drive Back to Windsor. 3. Three years of, of bowing out to Kitchener. How much are you looking forward to potentially playing this team again?
83:42Justin: Maybe in the playoffs?
83:43Andrew: I mean, honestly, it's. It's one of my biggest goals is just to beat Kitchener this year, Sam.
