1:09Justin: Yeah. So. No, he goes by. He goes by dad colloquially. He's known. He's known by dad. Well, known by dad. So. Yeah. Well, we just talk about Jackson Parsons all the time. I thought we'd just get rid of the Aud business. Like, who even cares about the Aud It's all about Jackson Parsons.

1:27Andrew: It is. It is. It's all about Jackson Parsons all the time. This year. He is a force to be reckoned with.

1:33Justin: And finally getting the recognition with OHL Goaltender of the month.

1:38Andrew: Oh, I mean, I think. I don't know. I'm. Early predictions. If he keeps it up, I don't know who's. Who's going to beat him. I mean, those two guys that just got named to the world Junior Camp, you look at the. I mean, I get it.

1:53Justin: They're younger.

1:54Andrew: Parsons is too old to go. But. But. And they're younger and they're great goalies, so I'm not disparaging them, but if you look at their stats compared to Jackson Parsons stats. No, it's just not.

2:03Justin: It's not even there.

2:04Andrew: It's a whole different League of OHL starter.

2:07Justin: We'll talk about them a little bit later. But the only person close to Jackson Parsons is the Soo Greyhounds goaltender who we. Who we get to experience this week.

2:16Andrew: And he just gets a million shots against.

2:19Justin: Well, yeah, he just. So many shots. So many more shots.

2:21Andrew: So.

2:22Justin: Yeah, for sure. All right, so we got some games, recaps. Yeah.

2:27Andrew: Parsonites, rollout, Power of Walker. Yeah.

2:36Justin: Okay.

2:36Andrew: I like it. We'll get it. We'll iron it out.

2:38Justin: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it took us like, what, 12 episodes to kind of figure out the AudPod.

2:42Andrew: That's true. And we might actually change it this week.

2:45Justin: We got it figured out.

2:46Andrew: And guess what? Format change.

2:48Justin: Yeah. Freshen it up. Owen. Sound Attack. We saw them Friday night. I was there in person.

2:55Andrew: You were. You. You. You cheated on me.

2:59Andrew: And it was the day after my birthday too.

3:03Andrew: So you're in the doghouse, brother.

3:07Justin: Aw. So we saw Ointment Attack. That was a crazy game.

3:13Andrew: That was a crazy game.

3:14Justin: We ended up winning at 6 5.

3:16Andrew: I know. That was weird. I was texting you from my couch.

3:19Justin: Yep. There were people sitting in the row of the AudPod press box. No. Which was weird.

3:24Andrew: Bad. That's all bad. Some of the whole point in a row, you weren't there with me. Yeah.

3:31Justin: It was all my fault. Really.

3:32Andrew: It's all your fault.

3:32Justin: This was the Andalorian 200th game.

3:35Andrew: It was.

3:36Justin: Which. When. When we got to the third period and we had three goals scored against us, immediately I was like, nah. For Ando, can we.

3:43Andrew: I know.

3:43Justin: Can we get together for Ando here?

3:45Andrew: We have to win this game. Yeah.

3:46Justin: We have to win this game.

3:47Andrew: Win this game.

3:48Justin: Yeah.

3:48Andrew: This is the way.

3:49Justin: This is the way.

3:50Andrew: We must win this game. I have spoken. I mean, but we did. Yeah, we did. We did. Something happened in this game that I have never seen in my life.

4:02Andrew: A referee ended up at center ice during a rush, took out an Owen

4:08Justin: Sound defender and sent Misaljevic in all

4:12Andrew: alone for his goal in the first period. It was shockingly strange.

4:17Justin: It was so weird.

4:18Andrew: I still don't know what happened there. I would have been so mad if this was the Owen Sound podcast.

4:24Justin: Yeah. I would have been so angry. This would be the sound off section.

4:27Andrew: Is. Would be the sound off good. This guy with the puns. I also felt like there were some really good players on Owen Sound. Now that we've gotten to know some of them, I got a shout out to delil. He is. He is a force to be reckoned with. He was basically just all over the ice.

4:42Justin: Yep.

4:42Andrew: Not that we want to give too much props to our opponents. He just stood out throughout the whole game. The one thing that I was a little concerned about was that they were going to keep trying wraparounds on Jason Schaubel who's been very good up until this game, where he finally started to look maybe a bit like a rookie.

4:59Justin: That's true. Except that one. The one wraparound that beat him.

5:04Andrew: Yes, that was. He had two wraparounds.

5:07Justin: Oh, he had two wraparounds that beat him. The first wraparound that beat him was like a beautiful wraparound.

5:11Andrew: It was.

5:13Justin: If you're going to hit a wraparound, it Was it went far. Far post. Which was.

5:17Andrew: They also tried a third one and he stopped that one.

5:20Justin: He did. So he also. He also had the unfortunate luck of many breakaways.

5:25Andrew: Yeah. Which it seems to be. That seems to be almost part of Rangers hockey.

5:29Justin: Yeah. A little bit. We just let the breakaways, which I

5:32Andrew: don't even think that the Rangers are a bad defensive team. It just seems like there's some weird breakdowns in possession in the offensive zone and you just can't get back.

5:41Justin: Yeah. The puck gets into a weird spot and they just break out.

5:44Andrew: I gotta shout out Cameron Reid for the feed of the year so far. That was the apple of the year so far. From his butt.

5:52Justin: You tell me if we have to cut this. But the pass from the ass.

5:56Andrew: The pass from the ass. No, that's exactly. Yeah. The feed from Reed. The pass from the ass.

6:02Justin: It was beautiful.

6:03Andrew: That's the apple of the year so far.

6:04Justin: Absolutely.

6:04Andrew: I don't know a more beautiful one. And it couldn't have come from a more awkward spot.

6:08Justin: Yeah. This game. I've never been to a hockey game live where I have both completely lost hope that we can win a game and then completely believe that we can win this game in the same five minute span.

6:22Andrew: Well, I mean after the first and second period I was pretty sure they were going to win it.

6:26Justin: Yeah.

6:27Andrew: And then in the third period they come out completely flat. As flat as they've looked since the second game of the year when they were sick.

6:35Justin: Yep.

6:36Andrew: And they go down and they're. All of a sudden it's five to three for Owen. Sam.

6:40Justin: Three goals. Three goals in what, six minutes?

6:42Andrew: Yeah. It was like. Oh yeah. Okay, cool. So this is one of those games that got away from you and you're. Hold on a second.

6:52Justin: Got a little confident there in the first and second.

6:54Andrew: Hang on a second there because what did we talk about? What did we say last episode? That was streaky. Well, guess what? The streak is on the power play.

7:05Justin: They came back roaring back.

7:06Andrew: Three in a row.

7:07Justin: It was beautiful. Good night.

7:08Andrew: Owen Sound. Thanks for coming out foreshadowing, but Luke Ellen is just. He had the power play winner.

7:15Justin: Oh, the hand. Eye coordination on that goal. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. the Aud was insane.

7:22Andrew: I believe it.

7:22Justin: That was the.

7:23Andrew: I would have liked to have been invited.

7:26Justin: Daniel, we have to talk. That was the game against Owen Sound. Then on Sunday we went and played the Guelph Storm game where we won 3 to 2. This is what I'm calling the buddy the elf game.

7:41Andrew: The buddy the elf game. Yeah. Because they had those holiday jerseys on

7:44Justin: and Buddy the elf was reffing this game. Oh, that's okay. Oh, yeah. You can slap people in the face with your stick. That's totally fine.

7:54Andrew: Well, we actually saw that in another game in the OHL this week, which is a bit of a segue.

7:58Justin: Yeah.

7:59Andrew: Just that we saw an absolutely vicious stick swing. And I don't want to get too much into it because I just don't want to drag the kid who did it. But you can't do that.

8:09Justin: No, he lost his temper and he.

8:12Andrew: Yeah, but you can't lose your temper with a weapon.

8:14Justin: Yes. Well, yeah, he has a weapon. Yeah. He's also like very muscular and a hockey player at a semi professional level. Yeah.

8:22Andrew: So anyway, we won't get too off topic with that, but that was insane. I'm not going to.

8:28Justin: Yeah, yeah. I mean, there was like the egregious headshot on Swick at the beginning of this Guelph game. That didn't get called at all.

8:36Andrew: Yeah. Which. I mean, how do you get a headshot on a 6 foot 7 guy?

8:40Justin: That's a challenge.

8:41Andrew: That's targeting. That's targeting. It has to be.

8:44Justin: It has to be. I was also surprised to see no suspension for that.

8:47Andrew: In a league that seems to be a little bit suspension happy.

8:51Justin: Yeah. But that headshot to Swick did give me my juice nickname this week.

8:57Andrew: Oh, really?

8:58Justin: Yes. For this game, he was the Spicy Margarita.

9:02Andrew: The Spicy Margarita. Is that really juice?

9:04Justin: No. Cause it has. This has bite to it because the juice was.

9:08Andrew: So we're just doing beverages now.

9:10Justin: There's juice in it.

9:11Andrew: There is juice in it.

9:12Justin: There's lime juice. Okay. He could be.

9:14Andrew: I'll give you that.

9:15Justin: He could be the lime juice in a spicy margarita.

9:17Andrew: I'll give it to you.

9:18Justin: We make the rules here. Yeah.

9:20Andrew: We discovered a few episodes ago that we make the rules.

9:24Justin: Somebody told us that. We told ourselves that we make the rules.

9:28Andrew: Braden Gillespie for the Guelph Storm stood on his head early.

9:32Justin: Yes.

9:33Andrew: And it was two to nothing going into this second.

9:36Justin: I thought we were going to get goalie. Like, I just thought this was a goalie game.

9:39Andrew: And the Aud did turn out to be a goalie game.

9:41Justin: Yes.

9:41Andrew: But it was both of them.

9:42Justin: Yes.

9:43Andrew: So once they went down two nothing, obviously I had to make note that Swick had the snipe of all snipes.

9:50Justin: It was so beautiful.

9:51Andrew: It was a beautiful.

9:52Justin: Just a.

9:52Andrew: Just a perfect shot.

9:53Justin: That was his 50th OHL goal.

9:55Andrew: Wow. Congrats to Swicky.

9:58Justin: There.

9:59Andrew: Oh, Chromiak threw it on net and ended up with an assist. And I thought, man, this team needs to do more of that. And they actually did.

10:08Justin: Yeah, they just started throwing them on net.

10:09Andrew: Yeah.

10:10Justin: And that fed into last night's game.

10:12Andrew: Exactly, exactly. They threw it on Ned in that game, too, and got a goal out of AudPod, yeah, they need to not necessarily try and make a perfect play sometimes and just throw it at the net. And I think that's happening.

10:23Justin: Except. Except poor Romano, who threw it at a wide open. And when Gillespie.

10:29Andrew: I don't speak of the year candidate for sure.

10:32Justin: In the ohl, he was using the force.

10:34Andrew: Yes, it was perfect. He lifts his. If you didn't see it, he's on his belly. The puck goes behind the net on a redirect. It comes out front to Romano, who's literally at the side of the net, has a gaping cage.

10:48Justin: The goalie's literally laying on the ground like there's no save.

10:51Andrew: Gillespie is.

10:52Justin: Yeah.

10:52Andrew: On his stomach, and he literally reaches up his. His glove and catches and just.

10:58Justin: It's like a fly ball.

10:59Andrew: A missile. It is. It's like a fly ball. It was like a. It was like a. A liner to the shortstop, but he was on his stomach.

11:05Justin: Yeah. It looks like he was practicing his baseball catches. Like it was just so be. Yeah. Beautiful save by Gillespie.

11:11Andrew: And then speaking of beautiful saves, Parsons with the breakaway save on Lechenko, who played a lot of hock Philadelphia before coming back to the Storm.

11:19Justin: Well, we talked about Luchenko last week being a huge threat, and we neutralized him.

11:24Andrew: He got out of the box free on a breakaway by himself. And Parsons stood tall because Parsons has had so much breakaway experience. For better or worse. For better or worse.

11:36Justin: Yeah. He's gonna be so good in the NHL when

11:40Andrew: the shootouts.

11:41Justin: Yeah, they get to the shootouts and nobody can beat him.

11:43Andrew: He's a shootout specialist. Shout out to Mike Morrison. Craig McTavish of the Oilers during the decade of Darkness, actually pulled the starting goaltender for the shootout and put Mike Morrison in. Shout out to Mike Morrison. I think he played in the ohl. Yeah. Well, you can tell, like, that didn't go very well. So anyway, that was that. That was that era of Oilers hockey. And of course, going back to the game against Guelph, OT Happens in ot.

12:08Justin: Yeah.

12:08Andrew: Cameron Reid looking like a forward. We said that last episode. Cameron Reid sometimes looks like a forward out there with the way that he can play offense.

12:16Justin: The one thing that was interesting about. About this game was we we were down 0 to 2.

12:21Andrew: Yeah.

12:22Justin: Going into the third.

12:22Andrew: Yeah.

12:23Justin: In the first period, we had 18 shots. In the second, third, and OT, we had 17 combined shots.

12:30Andrew: Right. But the Aud was quality over quantity.

12:33Justin: Well, they were good shots in the first period. I mean, Gillespie was.

12:36Andrew: He stood on his head.

12:37Justin: But. But also goes back to your point about throwing things on net. Like they were throwing some things on net that just needed to get there and that'.

12:44Andrew: Yeah, well, that goal that Bottino scored off the chromiak, that was literally just like. Just throw it on the net and see what happens. If there's traffic there, you never know what's going to happen. And Bottino continues to play really well.

12:55Justin: He does. Yeah. Good name, too. The third game was Tuesday night. That was last night for us because we'll probably say last night a bunch of times because we're like that.

13:04Andrew: That's true. We are recording on Wednesday and we

13:07Justin: played the Brantford Bulldogs for the first time this season. We won six to three.

13:12Andrew: Oh, yeah.

13:12Justin: That was fun. What'd you think of that game, Andrew?

13:15Andrew: Well, I thought that over 10,000 teddy bears being thrown onto the ice was pretty, pretty, pretty gosh darn cool.

13:25Justin: Pretty swell. It was super cool.

13:27Andrew: It was. I was a bit disappointed that I wasn't at the game.

13:30Justin: Yeah.

13:31Andrew: Because next year I am circling that game and I'm going to that game and I am throwing at least one teddy bear.

13:38Justin: Well, you have to think that there were people were throwing two or three teddy bears.

13:41Andrew: Exactly.

13:42Justin: That's a lot of teddy bears. We gotta break the record. Yeah. It was really fun. I. When it first started happening, I was like, oh, it just happens now. I don't know why I've never seen one of these before. Oh, no, I had. No, I hadn't. They kept talking about it in the broadcast. It's like, who's gonna get the goal? And I didn't realize that, like, they're just waiting to throw them on the ice as soon as the goal is scored. And I'm like, this is like a huge disruption. They were doing interviews.

14:06Andrew: Yeah.

14:06Justin: But it totally did not kill the flow of this game. It was super fun. What a great moment.

14:12Andrew: It was a great moment. It's a great initiative.

14:16Justin: Yeah.

14:17Andrew: And it was cool to see the boys being boys and playing with the teddy bears and doing silly stuff.

14:24Justin: Yeah. Just being.

14:25Andrew: Hitting Luke Ellinas with the teddy. Teddy bear. Of course, Luke Ellen has scored the goal and they were just skating by during his interview and smacking him with the teddy bears and stuff. I don't know. It was just a great humanizing. They're just boys. They're just boys playing a game, having fun.

14:44Justin: They're having a good time.

14:45Andrew: So I loved it. Sean Furfaro got out on the ice there and had his interview and brought his brand of fun and humor to it.

14:53Justin: So many great questions. Sean Favaro was all over the place, doing tons of interviews with everybody. Yeah. So fun and just great questions. It was like the levity of that moment was just like, so light and lovely. Yeah.

15:07Andrew: It's just, it's, you know, it's more than a game, but it's also just a game.

15:10Justin: Yeah.

15:11Andrew: So it was fun to just see that moment and to support the community and celebrate, you know, teddy bears and Christmas and holidays and whatever.

15:20Justin: As a person who's like, really only watched the NHL in his life, like this type of, like, fun and great moment, which has never happened in the NHL, like.

15:28Andrew: Well, I will Sam O'Reilly can remember going to NHL games when they were affordable, when I was younger, like, and they were more fun. They'd give away. They'd give away free pizza if there was a goal scored at a certain time, the Sam O'Reilly that the Rangers give away chicken. There were things that took place in NHL arenas that were a bit more geared towards families. Right now it's very corporate.

15:50Justin: Yeah. Yeah. It feels very corporate.

15:51Andrew: Yeah.

15:52Justin: But back to this game. It felt like the first period was super slow, super tentative. Everybody was so nervous. You could tell that the Aud meant a lot that somebody was going to score this goal and they all kind of wanted to be that person.

16:05Andrew: Random side note, I was like, what if nobody scores? I know. And apparently this happened once at an Oil Kings game in Edmonton and it went to overtime and the Oil Kings scored in overtime. Can you imagine the pandemonium? 001 nothing win. Like, could you imagine the sweating was going on with the promotional team if they lose one, nothing.

16:28Justin: Yeah. But we didn't have to deal with that.

16:30Andrew: Didn't have to deal with that because

16:31Justin: so many goals were scored. Yes. Yes. The floodgates opened in so many ways. Yeah. Yeah. So Luke Ellinas is now Theodore Ellenaz for the Teddies.

16:43Andrew: The Teddies.

16:46Justin: Old Teddy Ellenaz. I don't know. Theodore Ellen is my father. I'm Teddy Jr. No, but before that,

16:59Andrew: Parsons had yet another breakaway. Stop. Yes, he did. And during. I will say the thing that we haven't talked about that was absolutely hilarious was that Noah Roberts was in the box for a game. Or not. Game misconduct. A 10 minute misconduct during the teddy bear toss. So there was this about. There's about what, a 15 minute interruption? Yep. Maybe. Maybe conservatively, 10 minutes. 10.

17:22Justin: 15. Yeah, 10 to 15. For sure.

17:23Andrew: And he was already in the box for a couple minutes. And then he had to serve, like, I had to serve the majority of his penalty after the teddy bear toss.

17:32Justin: But the best part was he was on the tv. There were kids throwing bears down the tunnel right beside the penalty box. It would look like he was frozen. It looked like the TV froze if you were just looking. But there were joyous kids throwing bears

17:50Andrew: by him, one of which was waving at him. And he just broke eye contact and looked away. And my wife even was just like, she's waving at him. He didn't wave back.

18:05Justin: Everybody else, like, I didn't really see anybody from Brantford, like, celebrating with the Teddies, but the Rangers were out playing with the Bears, like, skating around, waving at people, like, interacting with the fans in the crowd, whatever, kid. Just sitting there.

18:23Andrew: I couldn't imagine going to the intermission after that and what the teammates on Brantford must have said to him, I haven't seen you in a while, buddy. He's just in there forever.

18:36Justin: He was in there. So that was the longest 10 minutes of his life.

18:39Andrew: Somebody else got a penalty and they went in there. And I was like, he's still in there.

18:43Justin: Why is he in there still? Like, I was literally like, how long was this penalty?

18:49Andrew: If I had the time to go back and try and figure out in real time how long this kid was in the box for, it was.

18:56Justin: It was a half hour at minimum.

18:58Andrew: It was a half hour. It was insane. He'll never talk back to an official ever again. No, absolutely.

19:06Justin: But it wasn't his penalty he was serving.

19:09Andrew: Yeah, see, that's what I thought, too.

19:11Justin: Oh.

19:11Andrew: It wasn't what they said on the broadcast, but then when I looked in the game notes, they just attributed the penalty to him. So unless they made a mistake. Oh, and attributed the penalty to him.

19:19Justin: I thought it wasn't his.

19:20Andrew: I thought it was. Because that's what they said on the broadcast.

19:22Justin: Yeah.

19:22Andrew: However, in the game notes, it just says Noah Roberts.

19:25Justin: Okay, so it was just him.

19:26Andrew: So if it was him, it's even funnier. If it wasn't him, then you're like,

19:29Justin: oh, that poor kid. Poor kid.

19:31Andrew: But if he actually talked back to an official and had to sit in the box for a half hour, Best hilarious ever.

19:36Justin: Think about what you did.

19:37Andrew: He got grounded, dude.

19:40Justin: And the Aud then the third period Just like, pandemonium.

19:44Andrew: Went nuts.

19:45Justin: So many goals went nuts. But it was so fun.

19:47Andrew: It was. It was a really fun period, for sure. I know. I was a little bit.

19:51Justin: It was a little bit of stress. Like, I thought they might lose it.

19:53Andrew: Yeah. I mean, The Rangers scored two goals in 53 seconds.

19:57Justin: Yeah.

19:57Andrew: I took my dogs out to use the bathroom last night and. Well, last night, Wednesday night. And I thought I was safe because they were going to commercial. And I came back in and two goals had been scored.

20:08Justin: Yeah.

20:08Andrew: I was like. I looked at my wife, who was sitting on the couch. I was like, what happened? She's like, yeah, they scored twice. I was like, no, yeah, I got that. I was like, what happened? She's like, I don't know.

20:18Justin: And they were great. They were great goals. I bet you watched the highlights or at least the. The recap at the end.

20:22Andrew: I saw that. I watched the highlights.

20:24Justin: The Vermulen goal was so beautiful. It was like.

20:26Andrew: No, it was Grizzolia.

20:27Justin: Grizzgolia.

20:28Andrew: Yeah. Grizzgolia.

20:29Justin: Grizz Golia got that goal.

20:30Andrew: Grizzly Bear on teddy bear night. Got a beautiful goal.

20:33Justin: Beautiful goal. Yep. So that was it. That was the. That's. The games. They were fun. It was a good weekend. I mean, we won three of three, which.

20:40Andrew: Yeah.

20:40Justin: Makes. Makes things easier to talk about. Yeah.

20:42Andrew: Well, we didn't talk about the. The game winner in the last game.

20:45Justin: Oh, yeah.

20:46Andrew: Because it was scored by Deer Colo.

20:49Justin: Thank God. And it was that sequence that led to. It was. There was. There were so many, like, beautiful shots that should have went in that they saved. It was like, oh, man, can they ever beat this guy. Deer Colo comes trundling off the bench.

21:03Andrew: Okay. The puck is the slowest. The slowest puck to the blue line I have literally ever seen in my life. And no one's around. Durakolo comes in from the bench, like

21:16Justin: you were saying, oh, I can just keep it on side.

21:18Andrew: And just throws a snapshot.

21:20Justin: And it just, like, right in. Everybody on Branford thought that puck was out of the zone. Everybody just, like. They stopped.

21:27Andrew: Everyone stopped playing.

21:28Justin: They just stopped playing.

21:29Andrew: And Derick Cola, he just walks in, perfect timing. And again, just throw it on net.

21:34Justin: Just throw it on net.

21:35Andrew: Goes right in.

21:36Justin: It was so good. Thank God he's back. First goal of the season. Yeah, that was good. Okay, so now we're gonna do. You may have noticed that we didn't do three stars for any of these games.

21:47Andrew: We didn't. Format change. Format change.

21:50Justin: So we're probably just gonna do three stars after weekend games and for the weekend because I think that's kind of nice and maybe if things get really bad, we might do good, bad and the ugly for like a really rough weekend.

22:01Andrew: But I don't believe it'll ever happen.

22:03Justin: I don't think it's ever gonna happen. So three stars.

22:06Justin: Andrew. I 99.9% sure we have the same first star.

But he is just that quintessential guy who can bounce up and down between that second and third line and just is all over the place and drives play and is physical and just deserves to have a weekend like that where he logs six points. And what a great acquisition.

He had two assists in last night's game where there were three goals scored against. He was still plus four. He's just a big, powerful skating defenseman who has good hands for a defensive defenseman, is a guy that I don't see making positional mistakes, not making turnovers, making easy passes look easy. And he's just been another great acquisition from Mike McKenzie. Maybe. Mike McKenzie should.

25:09Justin: Should have been my first starter. Who's your third star? I mean, now. Now that I learned some new information about that. It was Noah Roberts in the box. It was the kid who was serving his penalty. That's who I was. My third star was.

28:17Andrew: My NHL moment of the week hastens back to an impromptu segment we did where we talked about the NHL moment

28:25Andrew: up earlier on was Patrick Lyna getting injured. And it being. We just kind of. We talked about it a little bit and how it was a knee on knee and Deira Colo had a knee on knee. Deraco had a knee on knee as well. And so basically it's the return of Patrick Lyne. Now, don't get me wrong, I do not like the Montreal Canadiens. I do not like them. No, I do not. However, I'm rooting for Patrick Lyna. He's had some mental health issues. He's had some bad injury luck. He has kind of not lived up to the hype a little bit. Not necessarily. I'm not blaming him. I'm just saying. And I've always been rooting for him as a goal scorer, and I liked him in Winnipeg, and I just. I want the guy to succeed. So to have him come back with the halves and score a goal right away.

29:15Justin: He's still on a goal streak, which is hilarious. He's still on a goal streak. Yeah. So, yeah, it was great. Nice to see Lione back. My moment of the week is a little bit more somber. As you all know, I'm a Flames fan. And last night, on Tuesday night, the Johnny Goudreau tribute, the Saddle Dome. I mean, it was very emotional. The game was emotional. The beginning, they did a great tribute. They played his Go, Johnny Go song, but they played an acoustic version. George Canyon sang that out at center ice. And they played a tribute video. I mean, the Sean Monahan hug at the end of the Dallas Stars series when Johnny scored the Aud series winner. I mean, Sean Monahan was a wreck. I. I was watching Sean Monahan, I'm like, I bet I look the same, but I don't feel the same as Sean Monahan. He is. He was wrecked. I mean, his family, they were obviously glad to be there, but also, it's just so sad. Like, I don't know how you get over that. So.

36:32Justin: They won the Memorial Cup with a slew of legends. With so many other groats. Like Al McInnis, Scott Stevens, Brian Bellows. He won two OHL championships with Kitchener in 81. In 82 for the Rangers. He played three seasons, 178 games, 249 points, including 108 point season.

36:53Justin: So this guy, again, flew under the radar. He played for the OMJHL, the OHL, the IHL, the AHL, the NHL, and West Germany. 3. West Germany. Yeah.

37:08Andrew: All right.

37:08Justin: I mean, sure. Yep.

37:11Justin: And them was the times, I guess. After playing hockey, he retired and he went and became a public school teacher in Connaught and only retired in 2022.

37:22Justin: I mean, I'm like, who is this groat? He's a powerhouse. Has a crazy record. I would say basically an unbeatable record in Memorial Cup points.

37:33Andrew: Yes. While somebody tied it. But they couldn't beat it.

37:36Justin: They couldn't beat it. And he is Jeff Larmor.

37:40Andrew: Ah, Jeff Larmor. Yes. Yes, he was. He didn't. That's a good name. Because he was on the short list and then I actually trimmed the short list and it's cool that somebody actually brought him back into the sounds of him.

38:18Andrew: So this groat, believe it or not, this is just a fun little tidbit about his life. He is married to Doug Gilmore's daughter.

38:29Andrew: Yeah. So that's his father in law, Killer Gilmore.

38:32Andrew: Terrifying.

38:33Justin: Yeah. Awful.

38:36Andrew: I'm so grateful that I have a wonderful father in Law. I'm sure Doug is too, but he's Gary.

38:41Justin: Yeah.

38:41Andrew: This man was known as an offensive center with a good eye for the game. He was a very good skater. He had a good attitude, defensive game and stick handling and he also shot well. However, he was primarily a playmaker. He was born in Oakville, Andrew He was a natural center. Drafted in the first round, 12th overall of the OHL Priority Selection in 2002. In his first year as a 16 year old, he scored 16 goals, 47 points and he was named to the OHL second all rookie team. This was 2002, 2003. The Rangers won both the OHL championship and the Memorial Cup. As a Rookie, he scored six goals and had eight points in 21 playoff games that that season. In his second year with the Rangers, he kept up this pace. Scored 15 goals, 36 assists, 68 games and was drafted in the fourth round by the Detroit Red Wings, 128th overall. However, in his third year, he started to break out. Took a step. He scored 28 goals but had 59 assists in 68 games. The Rangers went to the third round where he scored seven goals and had 13 points in 15 games. And then finally in his overager season, boy, he had the sixth best season of all time for the Rangers. Despite being a playmaker. He scored 37 goals and added 77 assists that year. He also had a phenomenal 25 power play goals despite having not having a shoot first mentality. He would go on to play five AHL seasons before joining Vas Tyres Ik for a season and then eventually ended up with Oskarsham Ik of the Swedish Division 1 league where he would become a star player and fan favorite over there. He eventually played pro in the Swedish Elite League, the Swiss League, an Austrian league, a German league and even the British Elite League over the course of 11 seasons and finished his career playing in the Allen cup senior men's hockey for two seasons.
